I'm a twenty-something newspaper editor in Kansas, USA. My mom calls me Comma Police because I'm picky about spelling, punctuation and grammar รขโฌโ but hey, it's my job.
I like shopping at thrift or antique stores for things I can repurpose. Frankly, I like shopping in general รขโฌโ mainly for clothes or house dรยฉcor.
I've dabbled in many crafts, but I'm focusing on sewing. I love making bags. I also enjoy making cards. I make jewelry, generally bracelets or necklaces, when I'm inspired (or beads are on sale).
Bright colors: pink, orange, teal, yellow, green; I also love navy, particularly in combination with any of the aforementioned colors or white.
Fabric, especially with modern shapes and patterns; some florals; vintage (or vintage-y) stuff; costume jewelryรขโฌโearrings, necklaces, bracelets, cocktail rings, brooches; tea (black, green, herbal or oolong; loose leaf or bags); ribbons; buttons; purses; shoes; scarves; shopping; decorating; scents: vanilla, light floral, fruity; home dรยฉcor: mid-century modern, space age/atomic, 1950s-60s stuff.
I like hats and wish that wearing them more often would come back into style. (Maybe "Mad Men" will do it! Love the styles from that show.)
I am currently in an earring rut. I've lost half of several of my favorite pairs. (Can I wear mismatched earrings? Avant-garde or dressed-in-the-dark?) So I would be glad to receive some new ones in swaps. I like chunky colorful ones (pierced or clip-on) or grown-up dangly ones for work.
Books: Classics (love Jane Austen), historical fiction ("Girl with a Pearl Earring"), mystery (addicted to Nancy Drew in my youth), generally entertaining stuff and crafting how-tos (see next paragraph).
I love to learn new crafts, so if you have craft books that you've already gone through, pass them along! I would be grateful to receive books about sewing, embroidery, decorating, designing or learning to knit or crochet.
My husband is getting jealous of all the great swaps I get. He loves pens, if you'd like to throw something in for him.
For postcards, I gravitate toward ones of art or vintage advertisements. I like vintage and new ones.
Most things country, precious or chintzy; pastels; bud vases; bugs/insects/arachnids; anything that's neither beautiful nor useful รขโฌโ it has to be one or the other! And I'm just not that into ATCs or dotees.
