I'm 29 and from southern California. I grew up here, but I've also lived in Nevada and Oregon for two years. I was temporarily paralyzed a couple years ago from a rare autoimmune disorder and have a chronic illness so I spend most of my time at home listening to music on Spotify (let's trade playlists!), watching movies, reading, and making things.
Before I became disabled, I received an Associate's of Arts degree in Liberal Arts then transferred to UC Irvine where I majored in Anthropology. I'm extremely interested in cultures, linguistics, lineage, etc. One of coolest things to ever happen to me was winning a contest where I won a trip to Taiwan for a week. I love traveling, going to concerts, and I'm a foodie, but haven't been able to partake in any of these in over three years. I don't really like to talk about it, but this is my reality for now - I have a lot of pain on a daily basis from nerve damage and also some serious stomach issues that are pretty much controlling my life.
I've been into snail mail for awhile and have had penpals for over ten years on and off. I enjoy making collages, more recently ATCs and flipbooks. Trying to incorporate more paint and started using image transfers. In general, I'm interested in a wide range of things like: reading (novels, comics, zines, memoirs, lgbt), writing (letters and stories), thrift shops (some of the best places to find old books and magazines for collages), movies (indie, foreign, comedy, lgbt), photography, ufos, aliens, route 66, area 51, New Mexico, Atlantis, the Bermuda Triangle, geocaching, abandoned buildings/places, the beach (it's nearby but I rarely get there), social justice, feminism, equal rights, music (indie, punk, ska, edm), sociology, etc.
Flipbooks, zines, ATCs, postcards, envelopes, gelli printing, collages, mixed media, inchies
Zines, ATCs, inchies, stationery, ephemera (ticket stubs, receipts, etc), cut outs, die cuts, chipboard, washi tape (samples), postcards (store bought or handmade), stickers, gelli prints or scraps, gelli plate tools, scrapbook paper, cardstock, Micron and Muji pens (black or any color ink), fine line Sharpies, Micron, stencils, stamps (used, new, or rubber), Uhu glue sticks, tape runners, rub-ons, inkpads, and punchers
Some specific themes/characters: air mail, robots, cameras, owls, trees, retro, Doraemon, Miffy, Badtz Maru, Moomin. My favorite colors are blue (any shade), teal, turquoise, pink (neon mostly), and purple.

Things I would prefer not to receive:
• Anything religious (even Christmas stuff, I'm Jewish, but don't really practice anything)
• Any food/drink items (I won't be able to enjoy them myself, but could pass them to my brother so it's alright if you do)
• Anything that smells strong like some perfumes, incense, etc.
• Page flags and sticky notes - I have plenty and rarely use them.
In general, I don't care for:
Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Spiderman, The Walking Dead, Big Bang Theory, and a handful of other mainstream fandoms so it's better to send it to someone else who will appreciate it more.
I think that's about it.. I'm pretty open-minded.
