My hubbie and I live just north of Atlanta, GA. We don't have kids, but it seems that various forest animals have adopted US.
Being fairly open-minded, I will listen to and tend to enjoy just about everything:
Classic Rock: Rush, Yes, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Styx, Aerosmith.....
Comedians: George Carlin, Mitch Hedberg, Jerry Seinfeld......
Alternative: NIN, Type O Negative, Primus, Ministry, Jane's Addiction.....
Bluegrass/Country: Alison Krauss, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash......
Rap: Eminem!
Oldies/Jazz/Blues: Sara Vaughn, Aretha Franklin, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole.....
Classical: Yo Yo Ma, Robert Shaw, Chamber Chorus, Charlotte Church, Sumi Jo, Luciano Pavarotti.......
A bonifide J.D. Salinger (Catcher in the Rye, Nine Stories, Franny and Zoey, etc.) addict.
The Coen brothers' works are a pretty big deal in this household: The Big Lebowski, Fargo, No Country for Old Men, Toy Story (contributed), Raising Arizona Burn After Reading
Also: Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Schindler's List, Office Space, Animal House, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (original), Contact, Pan's Labyrinth, There's Something about Mary, Spinal Tap, The Incredibles, Master and Commander
Documentaries: The Corporation, Water, King of Kong
Not so much drama or sports, actually.......I love YouTube! : )
Summer 2009 is when I started paper crafting and stamping. I love it!---- I'm learning a lot and have made fabulous, new friends! : )
Basic Gray papers are fabulous, but now they only do fabric. : ) Michael Miller's fabrics are fun. : ) Acey Duecy rubber stamps are thoughtful and surreal. : )
Whimsical, Japanese characters (not anime', but more like the Hello Kitty type, among others) take care of my 'cutesy'-'quirky' fix. I've really enjoyed the items from Etsy sellers that feature Japanese fabric with these types of characters printed on them.
Unexpected contrast and mixed media catch my eye.
I'm not a 'blingy', shiny, glittery, rhinestony, lacy, type---- just a little goes a long way with me.
Floral's okay, but just not too much and more on the whimsical side.
I like ribbons of all textures and colors and papers that coordinate (or not!) with them.
Gift giving is especially fun for me because of the world of wrap and package embellishments. I love matching the wrap and adornments to the personality of the recipient. I'll sometimes attach something unexpected, yet useful, to the top. My husband is convinced I suffer from a mental illness---- he once clocked me at 45 minutes to wrap and decorate a single gift---- ; )
