If I owe you a swap I will be sending it out on Thursday 11/20 and to my TJ swap people I will get the ones out in the mail by 12/5.. Things are really rough here in MI and money is super tight. It is the truth. You may think it is just a PC and a stamp but honestly it adds up. If I had known things were gonna be this tight I wouldnt have signed up. What you guys are going through in the rest of the country we have been n it for about 2.5 years and it has gotten much worse. My advice to you is to baton down the hatches and to take on a piddly part time job and save the cash..
On another note. Other then expense I am just tired of getting crapped on in big swaps. I mean I put a lot of time and effort and expense into all of my swaps and to never hear anything or get feedback burns my butt so I am done with swaps except for the traveling journal swap which I created. We will resume that in 2/2009.
I am married with two kids. My son Nolan will be three in July. He LOVES to draw and do art related things. We spend hours everyday doing so. He also loves trains. His biggest love are dogs.. all types. My daughter is 20 months and seems to be rather fond of music and monkey's. If you want to gear things towards them that's fine with me and there's no need to ask.CHECK OUT MY WISTS LIST. I am addicted to wisting in the wee hours of the mornings-- I stalk other peoples lists and add them to my own. I bookmark a lot of crafty things- either that I like- or would like to do for someone.
I love the Dead Milkmen and the like. Indie music is cool and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the blues (Ella, BB, etc. I listen to top 40 but not into it like "unmainstreamed music"
Oh my goodness!.. my uncle owned a movie theater and I grew up in one. I love any genre. My favorite ones are Airplane, Rocky Horror and Secondhand Lions, American President. More then likely if it is out in a theater, PPV or DVD I have seen it or I am about to watch it. It is impossible for me to write about them.
DEXTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! the one on Showtime, BTW. The Soup, Clean House, Detroit Tiger baseball, House, Weeds. I watch a lot of series on DVD.
Knitting and Sewing. I LOVE fabric. I also love to bake and I just inherited more beads then I will ever use- but I could always use pretty beads-so feel free to send. I love silhouettes (the really detailed ones) and little whimsy's, die cuts are really cool , too. I am buying a Cricut for my birthday this year. I LOVE paper as much as fabric but I don't like to scrapbook. Sharpies are the best present anyone could give me. I never have too many-- no really-- I don't! I like most things that people make. I like the unusual and the unique so throw it at me. I am allergic to wool in case you had something felted in mind for me.
I used to read about 300 books a year but with having kids I'm lucky to get 3 a year.
My favorite books are thrillers, suspense then an occasional chick lit but not sex in the city chick lit.More like my sister died type.
I love story books.. with or with out the kids and I tend to lean to the classics with this. Virginia Burton's "The Little House", Make way for the Duckling (McCloskey), Mike Mulligan, A Snowy Day, and a HUGE fan of Shel Silverstein! Dr. Seuss, too!
I really like nearly everything...but I am fond of retro things. Advertisements, old postcards, valentines, Stamps, little cutesy rockets, cowboys and monkeys that they had back in the day. I am making I-spy jar for the kids on car trips so if you get a little toy or miniature that you want to send me for a jar then by all means do! I just don't want your junk. Please don't send it to me and I won't send it to you. It is a rare exception that I do not put time and thought into what I am sending you. I always read profiles to see if I can find something that will suite your likes. I have a great sense of humor and will find humor in the oddest of things. You really can't offend me so if you want to get creative in that field go ahead..
ALLERGIES: I am allergic to flowers and teas are a big no, no. I can handle green and orange but beyond that.. I also am scent sensitive so sending me lotions and smelly's may not be a good idea. I can handle things like vanilla and peppermint but nothing called sea breeze, wild lily..I know I hate to be picky but it's a waste of your money,otherwise... and saves me a headache, a rash.. or a trip to the doctor-- Where I live is also Amway Headquarters. They make all of that stuff and my husband works for the factory so I get most of those things for free or darn near. If you are interested in samples, etc.. let me know and I will gladly obtain some for trade in a swap. I do not sell it.. so do not ask...lol...for some reason I felt the need to write that.
My kids are currently wearing a 24 months-2T (My daughter) and then my son is a 4T
I take a lot of pictures. I like to think I am pretty good at it for a novice. You won't see my stuff on myspace but you will see my stuff on a postcard.
A word on swaps--I will never not send- I usually send on the swap due date. Which-I look at that date when I sign up for a swap- if you need it earlier then that day because of something like vacation let me know. I always leave feedback but only do so on Sundays-sometimes I leave mail out in the van...but I'll get to it.. if I forget then send me a reminder.
ALWAYS WELCOME
Stickers,Things to make collages with the kids with,Paints, Crayons, Sharpies, Washable Markers, printed paper, fabric, Yarn, Candy, Hair things for a little girl, Hotwheels Stuff for the dogs or cats or even my fish, pictures, postcards ATC's - I'd love to stitch some together and make a huge poster out of them but I don't have the talent to make them- or not even really that- the time, STUFF YOU MAKE
Comments
I left you a message which is still unread, so am trying the comment board. I haven't heard from you regarding whether you received my card for "just because postcards", and I haven't been rated yet. I mailed my cards 10/27, so even slow poke mail should have reached you by now. If you never received it, I would send you another, but would like some response please. Thanks.
My journal arrived yesterday! What a treat! Thanks for the darling snowmen display. You didn't need to do that, but I do love it!
I'm enjoying reading my entries and looking forward to the next round.
Happy holidays and may the new year bring prosperity and health!
Sorry to hear things are tough for you now. I know I'm cutting back too, but I do appreciate your work on the traveling journal swaps. Keeping track of all those has got to be a real headache!
Your postcard for the quotecard postcard 17 swap has not arrived. Any ideas?
Hi Jenna, I'm wondering if you got my 080808 postcard yet. It only had to go a few miles! LOL
