Hi, my name is Lisa.
I am 41 and a single Mum to a wonderful 11 year old daughter.
We live in a village in north Kent in England. I run our local Rainbow group (Girl Guides for 4-8 year olds) which I enjoy very much, which includes a 'making' session every week. I am also involved with our school PTA and help out at the school twice a week.
For the last 20 years I have ran my own business in London but when the lease ran out I decided to spend more time at home with my daughter and am now working from home.
Since giving up the business I have started a new home based one but now that I am no longer travelling up and down to London I have a lot more time to spend my time doing the things I enjoy. I really enjoy making things and have started on quite a few projects at the moment I am having a great time making little felt bits and bobs which I am really enjoying. I have also dusted off my camera and have started to take pictures again, which I an really enjoying as well.
I have a pretty broad taste in music but have never got on with rap or heavy metal :) I have my ipod with me most of the time and at home listen to the radio a lot.
My daughter is learning the violin and we often try to scare the sheep in the nextdoor field by having a music session, she on the violin and me on piano :)
I don't read that often and when I do I tend to read a book straight through in one sitting.
I do read alot of magazines especially craft and cookery ones.
I really enjoy making things by hand, due to work I have not done as much crafting as I would like but I am getting back into things now.
I love making felt things - toys, badges, little fun bits etc.
Sewing teddies and rag dolls.
Making things with cross stitch or embroidery.
Cards - I have a bit of a problem keeping away from the paper section of our local craft shop. In fact I have to be careful whenever I get in a craft or material shop as it is very easy to be very bad :) Like many of you I have way to many supplies in my craft cupboard.
Knitting, but I don't have the staying power to get through a whole jumper so I tend to tackle the smaller things like socks - like the paper thing I have trouble walking passed really great looking wool.
If you where to have a look in my craft cupboard you would find (firstly a bit of a mess) but then ribbons, beads, charms, yarns, lovely papers, embelishments, stickers, stamps, ink pads, fat quarters, felts, silks, adia and sorts of other bits and bobs I have picked up in my travels.
I will always complete a swap so if you do not receive anything from me please get in touch so that I can resend the item - I won't be letting any one down.
