I run a small mobile art business for children and I also design and sell doll clothes. Have one fur baby and a lovely DH and a lovely DD and a wonderful grandson named Alastair who is eight. I have attended 13 different universities and colleges and hold a few different degrees. I was a mental health counselor for years. But I really enjoy working for myself, so running a small business suits me. I still do some private contract mental health counseling for the elderly. I live where it is cold and gloomy in the winter, so that is when I enjoy swapping the most, as it gives me an outlet for my free time. I am sorta of a Geek, as I love all things gadgety and love the newest electronics. While I attend church frequently I am a very open person to other people's beliefs. I feel strongly that every person has the right to believe what they feel is the best in their mind. I do not like people who judge me or who force their beliefs on me.
Cardmaking, pottery, scrapbooking and rubber stamping
I love to make and swap cards. I have been swapping for several years and find it so fun!
I am a potter and use to make pottery for several large theme parks and worked at a production pottery for awhile. Now I just do pottery for fun and I teach young people the art. Still have a wheel and two kilns and plenty of clay, guess I still enjoy it!
I am a bling type person!
I suffer from IBS and am lactose intolerant and I am allergic to some soap products. I am fine with products from Bath & Body Works, Avon, Mary Kay, even products from the drug store or Target are usually fine. I have some problems with Dollar Store products mainly. I watch my diet very carefully and seldom eat candy and junk food. I do have a passion for pistachios and low fat popcorn (not microwave popcorn, but the kind that comes in snack bags.)If you want to send me something I can have - send me tea, as at the present it is a big part of my diet.
Love mysteries - Lee Childs, John Grisham, Michael Connelly, Elmore Leonard, to name just a few. But I probably have read every book they have out. I will try any new mystery author that is recently published. Not much of a fan of cozy mysteries.
I belong to three book clubs and I am a quick reader. I love books in all formats, but prefer a regular book over a media version
I love earth tones. My favorite color is purple, but seldom use it in crafting. Double it with green and I think it is a lovely combo. I love bling on my cards. I tend to fluctuate between a very modern style and retro with an occasional vintage one thrown in. While I tend to make cards mostly, I love altered items and do scrapbook some. I run a card ministry at my church, so use tons of cards. I also like holiday cards - any holiday, as I send cards for all major holidays and some minor holidays. I prefer handmade cards over store bought cards. I am perfectly fine with you leaving the inside of a handmade card blank, as a matter fact I like it better, as I can personalize it myself.
I sew for a living. I am an experienced tailor and was trained as a tailor. I now design and sew doll clothes. I love fabric of all types. However, I am only in need of small print fabric for the dolls - don't want to overpower them with a big prints. I use pink, purple and red the most, as little girls love these colors. I love to sew and sew for others.
Hot tea is my favorite beverage. I like oolong tea, white tea, some herbals. Favorite snack is nerds gummy clusters.
Things I like and would love anyone to send me:
Sewing Needs: * Thread - white and black * single fold bias tape * Velcro - white, black, red, blue, pink * Elastic 1/4 inch or smaller * Stick on bling - hearts, flowers, seasonal - doll size
Rubberstamping and scrapbooking: * Clear or cushion mounted stamps that are fun - like gnomes, dragonfly's, snowmen * Ribbon - especially plain colors - nothing too thin - 5/8 inch is my favorite * Dimensionals, pop dots * glue dots
Fun items: * Collect penquins, one person teapots and salt and pepper shakers * Good brands of tea - no licorice, mint or chai, like almost any other flavors
Other likes: One of my degrees is in history and I have a passion for the time period of King Arthur. I have studied that era and did my masters thesis on that time period. But I especially love the fictional books about King Arthur and Morgan le Fey. I love the beauty and artistry. My DD's name is Morgaine and my swapbot name is morgainegeiser, all for my love of Avalon.
Flat items I enjoy: 1) Book marks 2) Book plates 3) Scrapbook titles 4) Small envelopes 5) Tea bags (no licorice, mint or chai)
Dislikes: * Stickers * Giant paperclips * Scraps of scrapbook paper * Chipboard
Please don't send me scraps of scrapbook paper - I am a Stampin' UP demo and I have tons of full sheets of scrapbook paper. I also do not use very many store bought greeting cards, if you have a spare pretty, glittery blank card that is fine. Please don't send stained lace, rick rack, seam binding, etc. I sew for part of my income and I have to use items that look new if not new, these items are fine if they are in good shape. Not really into the vintage look.
I can always use basic sewing items like: white & black thread, colored sew on velcro (no white I have tons and order it in bulk), single fold bias tape in pink, red, black or royal blue. Felt flowers (smaller, but not tiny), glue dots (medium size), I love the travel size Bath & Body Works shower gel - any current scent or vanilla based ones. The plug ins from B & B - I go through tons of them. Stretchy wide headbands. Gummie candies. Small packages of peanuts or mixed nuts. Small bags of pretzels, popcorn, cheddar popcorn. Granola bars.
