I'm 20 something years old and probably the biggest dork I know. Sometimes I feel like I am a child in adult body (especially when I'm in a toy store). During the day I'm a teacher working with 3-5 year olds and I love every minute of it. I try to find things that keep me busy during the summer break so that is when I get a lot of my embroidery projects done (mainly quilt blocks for family members) but I am always looking for new projects to start on. I would call myself semi-crafty and semi-thrifty. I love to make stuff and really enjoy searching dollar stores for just about anything ( you would be amazed at what you can get for a buck if you just look around). I'm not very good at scrap booking but it is something that I'm interested in, I love to do embroidery - mainly quilt blocks and table runners, but I am branching out to other types of embroidery projects. I also love to comb through antique stores looking for things that I can re-purpose. I have a bizarre weakness for anything embroidered, dinosaurs, vintage linens and doilies and just about anything kitsch-y. My favorite colors are teal, turquoise, cranberry, blue, coral, green and occasionally yellow. Jewel tones are always a good bet. I also like to collect cook books, recipes, and dinosaur stuff. I'm a big sci-fi and comic book geek (thank you dad!) I have two crazy dogs that couldn't be more different - one is easy going and lazy the other is a nosy little prima donna. I try to keep my swaps as far away from the dogs as possible but an occasional stray hair my make its way to your home, just think of it as a little hello from the dogs.
I listen to a mix of just about anything. I was raised on heavy metal and country; I'm pretty open minded about music - the only kind I don't really like is rap but then that depends on the artist. I have an affinity for music from the 40's and 50's, especially the Andrews Sisters.
I am in love with Jane Austen! There is just something so special about all of her novels, I've been hooked ever since I read Pride and Prejudice in high school. I try to read a few new classics every summer. This summer I'm hoping to finish the Sherlock Holmes stories and Jane Eyre (never can seem to finish this one). I like the Harry Potter books, Dan Brown Books, The Secret Garden, and mysteries.
Doctor Who (doctors 9-11, I haven't gotten to see much of the old series), Primeval (oy with the dinosaurs!), Psych, Law and Order:SUV, Bones, Criminal Minds, American Pickers, Pawn Stars (love me some cranky Old Man), Torchwood, Being Human (UK version) The Graham Norton Show, Warehouse 13, Firefly, Star Trek, Masterpiece Classic and Mystery and period dramas like Cranford, Little Dorrit, Pride and Prejudice, and North and South.
Ghostbusters, The Princess Bride, Batman movies, Indiana Jones, Serenity, The Proposal, Fright Night, Connie and Carla, Jurassic Park (of course), Pitch Perfect. I have a bizarre need to watch sy-fy channel movies even though I know they aren't going to be very good.
Like I said I love to embroider and make jewelry (although the need to make jewelry usually comes up around Christmas time). I know how to quilt but not how to actually finish a quilt ( a trait I apparently share with mom who has been "working" on the same quilt for over 20 years). I'm up for trying to make just about anything. I would love to learn how to crochet but no one has been able to teach me yet (apparently being a lefty doesn't help me). I'm also interested in learning about quilling.
I'm not a very picky eater, I'm game for trying just about anything. I love Mexican food and I'm constantly looking for new recipes to try for all kinds of food. My biggest food weaknesses are oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and Dr. Pepper ( sometimes I think I might sell my first born for a cookie and Dr. Pepper- guess it's a good thing I don't have any kids). I like to try candies from different parts of the world. I would love to receive some Jammy Dodgers if at possible since I can't find them where I live at all.
ââ¬Â¢a quilling kit ââ¬Â¢a kit to learn a new craft ââ¬Â¢recipe cards (filled out or blank) ââ¬Â¢cookbooks ââ¬Â¢kitchen scrubbies (love the handmade ones) ââ¬Â¢something tatted ââ¬Â¢something to embroider (not cross stitch, don't like doing counted cross stitch) ââ¬Â¢embroidery patterns ââ¬Â¢needle books ââ¬Â¢bags ââ¬Â¢cute pincushions ââ¬Â¢note cards ââ¬Â¢cute socks (size 9) ââ¬Â¢dinosaur stuff (I would love a dinosaur necklace or earrings) ââ¬Â¢Doctor Who stuff ââ¬Â¢something to put on my super bare walls (I'm still trying to get over the fact the my house looks like a college student still lives here) ââ¬Â¢vintage style embroidered kitchen towels (always on my to do list but I never have the time to do them myself) ââ¬Â¢toys for small dogs ââ¬Â¢fat quarters(I want to make a cathedral window quilt someday....) ââ¬Â¢flower brooches (if you you find one that looks like Rose's Idiots Lantern brooch I would LOVE you!) ââ¬Â¢interesting brooches ââ¬Â¢address labels ââ¬Â¢mini Doctor Who themed ornaments or tree skirt for a mini tree ââ¬Â¢anything handmade by you

Mr. Collins apologizes that his face failed to appear along side his inquiry .. it is rather handsome, is it not?
Mr. Collins is so ingratiated that you have deigned to join the Pride and Prejudice Swap! Mr. Collins delicately inquires about your marital status and feelings about living under the patronage of a certain lady of great means?
Thank you so much! ^-^ I hope you liked it! I have two hanging on my walls! :D
Did you open your present??
So glad the tea arrived! Hee hee - chewy tea - you'll have to let me know if you agree! I'm a bit of a tea-aholic and look for teas everywhere I go, and now friends pick up tea for me when they travel - so they're from everywhere!
I've got your Sweet Treats notebook ready to send out, but my Grandmother asked me to copy it down for her, so you'll still get it way before the deadline, but I just wanted to let you know that it'll be like an extra week. I hope that's ok, and I hope you enjoy what I picked out for you :)
