I enjoy hand embroidery and making quilts...piecing and applique. Have participated in lots of quilt block swaps, etc. I love collecting beautiful cotton fabrics and quilt patterns (especially modern designs)....to me there is nothing like visiting quilt shops in the area...especially with my quilting friends!
Obviously, I really like handmade items...I appreciate the time, effort, and creativity it takes to make something special....but I appreciate store bought items, too!! Anytime anyone takes the time to look for just that special something for me is very much appreciated.
I enjoy sending cards and letters as much as I enjoy receiving them. I'm always looking for cute stickers and stamps to dress up envelopes..!
I love traveling and plan to do much more of it since I'm now retired!! Other things I love to do.....nosing through new little shops (especially antique ones)....write letters to friends.....read.....do hand embroidery.....trying out new restaurants....photography.....walking in old cemeteries (I know, sounds morbid, but I love studying family history and cemeteries are all about history and interesting information) playing the piano....take long walks....drink coffee out of china cups (I collect them)... go on vacation with friends and family.....attend quilt workshops and exhibitions with friends. Most of all I love to spend time with my family!!
North Carolina has been my home all of my life...yes, I'm a true southern belle born and bred! HA! As I said, I love traveling but NC will always be my home...at least I hope so!! I married a wonderful man 37 years ago and we've been blessed with two fantastic children.
Things I like..... pretty china cups and saucers, interesting postcards, rubber stamps, gel pens or extra fine sharpies, simple recipes, anything associated with the fall season, any colors....love them all....journals, good quality 100% cotton quilting fabrics, interesting little scissors, DMC floss, ribbons, small buttons, notecards.... also used interesting postal stamps. I'm not interested in exchanging anything edible.
I don't make ATCs and matchboxes, but I'd love to receive some in swaps. Remember, handmade is GOOD!
Oh, yes...anything having to do with quilts and sewing!!
60's, 70's, and 80's type music....especially Motown, R & B, some classical, beach music (I'm talking the Embers, Chairman of the Board...Myrtle Beach- type beach music)....I guess I like everything except country and heavy metal!!
I have really gotten into sending and receiving postcards lately!! I love almost any kind, but especially postcards from your area, art cards, homemade cards, black & white cards. I also like map cards from all areas. Presently I have Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, Maryland, North Carolina, Colorado, California, Louisiana, Delaware, Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Nevada, Georgia, Tennessee, WV, Texas, SD, NM, Ohio, Virginia, Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Massachusetts, Florida, Michigan, Nebraska, Indiana, Missouri, New Jersey, Minnesota, South Carolina, Montana, Washington, Washington, DC, and Vermont. Would love to add to the list!! Please always write something interesting about the postcard or yourself on the back. I like them naked, and hand cancelled (but I know this can't always be done). Also, please write the date on the card!! ;^)
Please do rate me! I try and rate all of my swaps the same day I receive if at all possible.
Update on 6/6!24 have been away from Swap-Bot for the last year or more. I am now retired and I have more time to invest in fun activities!
