Hi! I'm Jan Post from near St. Louis, Missouri. Next year I will have been married for 50 years. We have two adult children and three teenage grandchildren and 5 cats. If I were to pick words to describe myself they would be: Christian, Creative, Compassionate, Thrifty, Organized, Resourceful, and Pioneering. My hairdresser called me a pioneer woman because I've never been afraid to take on something hard or new.
I home educated my two girls over 11.5 years starting back in the mid 80's way before it was popular! As a young adult I started a sewing business, made and sold crafts for 25+ years, sold Creative Memories and Stampin Up, managed a craft consignment mall, ran a food pantry, and worked with homeless families. I now have a successful Etsy shop where I sell retro and mid century items along with vintage ephemera.
Thrifting is a big part of my life! Paper collecting is my addiction!
Being a Christian has shaped my worldview. I have respect for other's beliefs as I hope others are respectful of mine. Our differences do not let that get in the way of making art, or being kind. I like Christian ephemera especially old Sunday School cards, game cards, and postcards with Bible Verses. Our world could use more civility! Being kind and noticing the good in other people is a good place to start.
Contemporary Christian especially Sara Groves.
Harry Chapin, Blind Faith & Eric Claption, Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills, & Nash (and Neil Young), The Beatles, Old Folk Music including Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter, Paul and Mary, and Joni Mitchell. (I still have a record player and a large collection of vinyl that I still play!) Irish music, Classical music - Beethoven, Mozart, and Vivaldi, Oldies from the Mid 60s to the Mid 70s I don't like Swing, Jazz, Rap, Hip Hop or Heavy Metal.
The Princess Bride, Bruce Willis in Red and Red 2 Any movie with Tom Hanks The Hundred Foot Journey Anything Jane Austin The Three Amigos Young Frankenstein
I don't watch much TV! When I do, it's NCIS, Bull,The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, or Forensic Files
Art Journaling, Rubber Stamping, Altered Books, Junk Journals Sewing Collecting STUFF for the above addictions
Please donβt send these things Anything cute like Hello Kitty, Kawaii, cartoon, Disney, Nudes, Witchcraft, Dark Themes or Celebrities.

Any kind of stickers. I have plenty of them that I donβt use already.
Memo Sheets
Glitter has been banned from my house for more than 25 years.
Perfumes or strong scents and cigarette smoke; both give me headaches.
I don't use candles, drink tea or coffee, or need any make up!
My preference for everything is mid century or older.

Sending Food really ups the postage on packages. I like a lot of candies, but the only one that's hard for me to find here is a good dark chocolate with raspberries. I do like these: Chocolate covered caramels, Chocolate Turtles, Hot Tamales, Peanut Butter Cups, Payday, Mounds, JuJy Fruits, Burnt Peanuts or Boston Baked Beans, Peanuts, Pecans, Macadamia nuts
I have crafted since I was old enough to hold a pair of scissors and made doll clothes from my momβs sewing scraps. For a few years I hosted an online group that made collaborative books. I enjoy making and sharing Artistic Decos and have been a member of several deco groups but have taken a rest from group participation for a while. I've been on SwapBot for years, but have taken breaks from time to time. My favorite toy is a large Accucut die cut machine with lots and lots of dies. I'm a paper hoarder and a die junkie. I can use Accucut, Ellison, and Sizzix Bigz Dies. I don't use thin dies.
Right now I'm collecting items for a Mother Goose Journal. I found an old Mother Goose book for 35 cents and thought I'd use the pictures in it until I saw it was a 1896 edition worth $540. I did not cut it up nor did I sell it!
It would be my great pleasure to exchange mail with you, surprise you, or send you the perfect gift! Going to the mailbox should be a happy experience! If you don't receive a swap from me, please message me first and I will re-send. I'm grateful for what you choose to send in a swap. If it's not my style, I may pass it along to someone who would. I always rate my swaps, but maybe not on the first day!
