I don't have a website or a shop, I just enjoy making fun things for friends.
I prefer creating unique and interactive sillies over art-with-meaning pieces (although I do know how to appreciate fine art).
I play roller derby. Our team colors are royal blue and white. I prefer to jam, but block as needed. And if you don't know what those terms mean, you should check out roller derby. It is awesome!
I like to travel (but keep spending my money on clothes and derby stuff). Internationally, I've been to Italy, France, and Monaco, Canada, and Mexico. I am hoping to go to Spain later this year. Also on the list, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Croatia, Turkey, Egypt, and Greece.
My favorite foods are any variation of sugary deliciousness: candy, snow cones, popsicles, ... I figure the trade off to being a "responsible" adult is the ability to eat whatever you want whenever you want, so I do.
I guess I'm less effected by music than most of the people I know. Mostly it's background and I can take it or leave it. I don't care for Christian rock, new country, or teen-pop. Other than that, I can be pretty adaptable, although I rarely know the lyrics to any song and will make them up as I go.
"On The Road", Jack Kerouac - actually changed my life (cliche, I know!)
"Jitterbug Perfume", Tom Robbins (really any Tom Robbins :D )
"His Dark Materials" trilogy, Philip Pullman
"Atlas Shrugged", Ayn Rand
"Oh The Places You'll Go", Dr Seuss
American Psycho
PeeWee's Big Adventure
Donny Darko
Goonies
Moulin Rouge
Midnight in Paris
Cabin In The Woods
Things that can be framed or played with, or framed And played with
Mechanical cards
Dioramas
Puppets
I love vivid colors:
Crimson red, vermillion red, ripe bing cherry red
Ancient Egyptian Palace gold, Pirates Booty gold
Tree frog green, Emerald City green, new leaves green, lime jello green, absinthe green
Lapis lazuli blue, twilight sky blue, cornflower crayon blue, Caribbean sea blue
Grape soda purple, Prince purple, heliotrope purple, amethyst purple, grape jelly purple
Saffron yellow, amber stone yellow, lemon curd yellow
and Black. Black is always an excellent backdrop and mixes well with any decor
I'm very tactile and enjoy textures, but I prefer real textures that can be felt and not just seen
I savor creativity and orginality. Basically, art should reflect the artist. I understand using premade images, but it makes me happy to see the artist in the creation. Aside from that, though, anything goes.
