FYI: Swap-Bot and my e-mail service (sbcglobal.net) do not get along, meaning messages sent to me through Swap-Bot do not get forwarded to my personal e-mail. So if you send me a message here, it may take a day or two for me to reply.
I am a SAHM to three kiddos ages 13, 14 and 15. I spend my days doing the mom things, taking care of the house, volunteering at my kids school, crafting whenever I get a free moment --which is never enough for me. When I did work I was in the Air Force and I got to live in many great places overseas and in the US. I retired in 2005, after 24.5 years to stay home with my kiddos--I became a mom when most of my friends were sending their babies off to college. My husband is also retired from the Air Force and is working on base as a civilian. In 2008 rescued an English Bulldog/Boxer mix, Gracie, that is the sweetest dog in the entire world. She passed away suddenly Oct 2016. We also rescued a mini schnauzer from the pound in early 2012 and named the little cutie Hazel.. We enjoy traveling, Texas Rangers baseball, football, WOW Sprint Car Racing and just being together.
I absolutlely love to cross stitch and make cards. I also enjoy other paper crafts, basketweaving and a little (very little) scrapbooking. You can see some of the things I have made on my blogs. tea-n-stamps.blogspot.com tea-n-stitches.blogsopt.com
Elton John, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, YoYo Ma, Bad Company, some country, some classical. Perfer not to listen to music on the radio. I keep my radio tuned to the local PBS station KERA.
I love mystery books-- Stewart Woods and Tess Garretsen are my absolute favorite authors. Several years ago I started reading cozy murder mysteries, I just love them. I have read all of Elaine Viets' and Fran Rizer's books. Currently I am reading H. Y Hanna mystery series. A great place for free books is PaperBackSwap.com, that is where I find most of my murder mysteries and great books for my kids.
I love tea, hot or cold, and I am willing to try any flavor, although I have found out that I am not that fond of Chai or Earl Grey. I also enjoy a good cup of black coffee--not too strong or acidic, just mellow. Chocolate is my favorite and I will take it in any form. My favorite color would have to be blue--I am always drawn to blue things. I love fall colors orange, brown, greens, and some soft yellows. As for crafty stuff, I prefer handmade cards left blank inside the card unless it is specific to the swap for instance, Christmas, Birthday, etc. Some sayings/sentiments are very personnal and I prefer to add my own. Many of the cards I receive in swaps are donated to a No-Kill Animal Shelter. The Shelter sells the cards to raise money to care for the animals and spread awareness.
I always send my swaps. If I am running late, which can happen I will e-mail you. I just ask that you do the same for me. I am a firm believer that life can get in the way and it does very often in my household.
As for rating I will rate you and ask that you do the same for me or anyone else that you swap with.
