My name is Rachael and I juggle working full time, raising 2 teens and a 1st grader, chores and being a wife along with my mostly crafting related hobbies.
I am an avid reader-last year I read over 80 books! I will read almost any genre.
I have a dog! We have a 1 year old Husky puppy - I don't know what age they are not considered puppy anymore but he definitely behaves like a pup still! Eventually I would like to add a cat and maybe another dog. I would love to have a small farm with a few cows, a horse and a couple llamas but that would have to be after retirement in 25ish years.
I collect lots of things including: enamel pins, snow globes, fabric, notebooks/journals, notecards, postcards, cute postage stamps and ephemera/found items that might be used for a project or might sit in a box forever π.
I enjoy most crafts-paper crafts, art projects, photo transfer-I love making ornaments out of tiles with photos transferred onto them, altered items, yarn and string projects (I can't really knit or crochet though) & just about anything that falls into my lap.
I think I spend more time collecting the supplies for projects than actually doing any of them! 'I can make that' is my usual response when I see something cute in the store, and sometimes I'll buy the stuff to make it then it usually sits in a closet or box for.ev.er!
I don't scrapbook much, although I have tons of supplies, my problem is doing the journaling I think. I have made small scale scrapbooks-altoid tin and CD case sized. I love to take the scrapbook kits and turn them into cards.
I love Found Poetry. I came across the book 'Humument' almost 20 years ago and just love looking through it every once in awhile. I would love to do a large scale project like that but so far I only do a page at a time, sometimes for ATCs, usually just because.
I love photography and would love to do that for a living. I've taken a couple classes over the years and take pictures for friends. I also love taking pictures of landscapes, flowers and animals and nature, and I want to do a series of heavy duty equipment-anytime I see a construction site I want to stop. I also like taking closeups of things especially food, eventually I'll invest in a macro lens.
I love quilting, both traditionally pieced and crazy pieced, and I just discovered EPP a little over a year ago and absolutely love it. I've never actually finished a full size quilting project! I've got at least 10 WIPs all set aside for various reasons (mostly lack of time, inspiration, motivation or interest)
When I'm not reading or attempting to craft, or thinking about crafting projects I could be doing, I enjoy cooking, baking, eating, listening to music, solving (or attempting to solve) logic problems in the penny mags, designing fabrics to print on spoonflower, editing photos & creating photo gifts. This list seems long but some of these I only get a chance to do once in awhile, I still enjoy them enough to count though :)
All colors, but especially purples.
Winnie the Pooh, especially Eeyore.
Llamas.
Cats.
Typewriters.
Butterflies.
Black & White photography.
Oceans & seascapes.
Anything moon related.
