Hello! My name is Chloe and I'm 20 years old from Malaysia. I'm not the best at introducing myself so I'll keep it short... I'm a business student and I enjoy reading self-help books every once and awhile. I spend majority of my time scrolling through instagram and facebook. (quite the typical young adult)
I joined swap-bot because one day a year ago, I was wondering whether people still had penpals nowadays since we're in the "technological era", ( I used to have penpals when I was 9 because my mom told me to try it out ). So I searched it up and, lo and behold, I stumbled upon the postcrossing community. I was glad that I found it and I started sending out postcards. It was definitely not enough for me since it takes time, and I wanted to join more different projects through snail mailing. I did some more researched and found out about swap-bot! However, I hadn't join much swaps because I couldn't understand the terms there are... such as "flakers " "angel " and "ratings around 4.9s" and so on. But yeah, that's how I got on these swaps!
I hope that somewhat tells you a bit about me, or a little story time haha.
There are some more information below about me if you're interested in knowing more :
I watch quite a number of movies... but I would say that my favourite movies are mostly Disney or Pixar films. Besides those movies, I love Marvel movies as well.
I used to enjoy reading books but as I got older, I stopped reading as I had a lot of other things to focus on instead. However, I do still have a couple of favourite books such as :
A couple of sitcoms I watch are :
-The Big Bang Theory - How I Met Your Mother - 2 Broke Girls - The Flash - Arrow - Legends of Tomorrow - Supergirl - Krypton - Sheldon
I enjoy watching animes every once and awhile as well. A couple of my favourites are :
A lot of people has told me that I have a very weird taste in music... For some reason, every time I'm given the job of picking music in car rides, my friends would say that I'm "bipolar" or whatsoever...
Till this day, I don't get why they say so because I think the songs I listen to are pretty common... since I heard about them on the radio and such.
But o' well...
Here are the songs/artists I enjoy listening to (along with some little explanation/story about it) :
I was introduced to this band ( when they just started out and came out with their hit song - Gotta be you & What makes you beautiful ) by my close friend, and as the young teen I was back then, I loved it so much. I own around 5 singles/albums of theirs now.
As the boring person I am, this is pretty much the only artist I listen to on a daily basis. I love Ed Sheeran's songs so much because they speak to me in a really personal level. I probably remember the lyrcis of his songs already considering how much I listen to them. My most played song of Ed's would be Supermarket Flowers.
My favourite song of theirs would probably be Uma Thurman or Jet Pack Blues.
These 3 are the main three artists/band that I listen to most of the time. But besides these, I typically listen to pop music; Otherwise, movie soundtracks.
Not really an important information but I could jam to the song "I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)" by The Proclaimers for 2 hours straight. And I have done so before... in a car ride.
Since I'm born and raised in Malaysia, I can speak 3 languages - English, Malay and Mandarin. However, I wouldn't say that I'm good at it... hahaha. I can also speak a Mandarin dialect known as Cantonese, and also a bit of Hokkien.
I wish I would be able to speak in Japanese fluently one day.
I would also be very happy if you could write something for me in your national language, along with a translation of it (if you're sending me a written postcard).
I love collecting postcards and I think so far I have around 100+ postcards. I can't wait to receive much much more postcards and just build up this collection of mine. It's really satisfying and a bundle of joy when I go through the box of postcards every once and awhile.
Here's a list of postcards that brightens up my day 10x more :
I love most postcards I receive really... However, please don't send me erotic cards or like those with pictures of insects or handmade jazzy cards.
It would also be great if you could, (again as stated above hahaha), well if you could write something for me in your national language, along with a translation of it (if you're sending me a written postcard). Or attach a small coin from your country :)
Preferably sent naked, I don't mind if it's in an envelope either because I collect stamps as well :)
