(This is practically the same as the quick swap, except people will have longer to sign up, so hopefully will have more people in it! Click here for Quick swap )

Today while I was puzzling over what I would cook myself for lunch, I wondered if there was something really easy and yummy out there I haven't tried. So I thought I'd create a swap to share some of our favourite recipes!

In this swap you will type out your most favourite recipe and send it to your two partners. If you have more than one favourite recipe, feel free to add another. It doesn't have to be something that you cook yourself, perhaps your friend's/mother's recipe.

Please make the recipe fairly simple to follow and make, yet not boring (so a bit more complicated than your usual fried eggs yet not something that takes 48 hours to cook!). Also, please make sure that it's a recipe that is made from scratch, and doesn't include any pre-mixed items, as these may not be available in other countries/areas.

Recipes MUST be typed. I've realised no matter how much you think your writing is readable, somebody else may find it hard to read. So typed on computer and printed out please!! Then sent in the post.

This swap is international. It is also available to newbies, but must have a profile filled out with a bit of effort, and anyone who has a rating of 4.5 or higher. Hearts go to people who share a bit of history of the recipe, add cooking tips, or simply have a really exceptional recipe.

P.S This is my first swap, so any tips appreciated!!

I want to sign up for this, but I have a quick question:

I want to send a recipe for a casserole but it requires canned cream of mushroom soup, would it be okay if I also put an easy recipe for the cream of mushroom soup in case they can't find any in the can? It also calls for mayo, should I include a mayo recipe?

lozzy 01/20/2008 #

I'd really like to sign up for this, I'm about to take my first step towards independant living so something quick and easy yet tasty would be wonderful. The only problem is, although I'm a good cook, the only things I'm currently good at making are either easy savoury things (like omlettes and bolognaise - which everyone can make!) or sweet things like cakes etc.

Yeh so the point is: does this include sweet/cakes/baking recipes? Because I don't want to sign up then find I can't deliver the goods!

To maybethismoon, it'd probably be a good idea to include the recipe for cream of muchroom soup, I personally haven't heard of it (that's not saying much though!). Personally I think mayo is pretty common, but probably safest to include that too!

To lozzy, any recipe will do that includes measured amounts of ingredients I think, so cakes would be great. They don't have to be entire meals, just something tasty. The reason I said not to include simpe things like fried eggs, is to stop people from saying, "I love fried eggs, all you have to do is crack them in a saucepan and eat", that wouldn't be very fair.

Is the Pillsbury dough that is in the "pop" tubes available in most countries ?? My favorite recipe includes this.. Just curious

TaraM84 02/12/2008 #

Here in Australia there is no such thing as Pillsbury dough, or any other ready made dough that I have heard of...

RavingRabbit 02/17/2008 #

Pilsbury dough is a no-no! oh I'm a poet and I didn't know it. sorry - being serious again; hard to get ready to use stuff like this in Turkey.

We are sending this one and not e-mailing it aren't we?
(I've enjoyed doing the crock-pot e-mail recipes today, so couldn't resist signing up for this one)

everyone has oats that they can buy right? and chocolate chips? (no, my recipe isn't oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.)

Are canned crushed tomatoes ok? They're not really a preperation, more of an ingredient.

TaraM84 02/26/2008 #

I'd say crushed tomatoes are fairly readily available... and if not they can just get fresh tomatoes and crush them themselves! ;)
