Description: | |
For the first group swap, I wanted to do something very straight-forward so that everyone can hopefully do something that really resonates with their interests and showcase their unique perspective. This swap will be international because you're not required to send anything other than a quick note - which can be about yourself, your art, or anything else you want. Envelopes should preferably not be any smaller than legal size, which is about 9 1/2 in. x 4 1/8 in., but you can choose a different size or shape that should be at least 5 1/2 in. square or 5 3/4 x 4 1/2. I'm not expecting anyone to actually measure envelopes - basically the idea is that you should use a decent sized envelope to showcase your mail art, and not just a small envelope where there's barely any room for anything. Your envelope should include a combination of any of the following non-exhaustive list:
This will absolutely be sender's choice, but I ask that you check your partner's profiles for any dislikes that can be avoided while still showcasing your personal artwork. You can use stickers** as well, but they should not be the only or prominent feature of your envelope. It goes without saying that the purpose of this swap is to really let your personality shine through your mail art - so this should reflect time and effort put into the swap. Please remember to put both your swapbot name and the name of the swap somewhere that won't get covered up, or inside the envelope. Feel free to message me with any questions, concerns or suggestions! :) ** A note about stickers: I know they get a bad rep because of "sticker slapping" on what is supposed to be mail art or even something like an ATC. Stickers are allowed on this swap ONLY as a small part of a bigger development of mail art, and I will allow participants to rate their swap partners down for any serious sticker-slapping in lieu of other artwork mentioned above. |
