Description:

The object of this postcard game is simple: I will give an obscure, strange word from the more unused parts of the English language and you will draw or otherwise illustrate (collage, paint, etc) what you think it means on a blank postcard or blank greeting card without looking it up.

For example, if the word was "snickersnee," what would you draw? I might collage a woman sneezing, based on thinking snickersnee means that little tickle before you sneeze.

Or let's say the word was "Smellfungus." You could go with the immediate vision of a mushroom with stink waves coming off it or perhaps a person very happily sniffing his feet. Mm-mm!

There's no wrong way to portray the word because you'll be illustrating it without looking it up first. On the back of the card, explain your thought process and how you came to the drawing/collage/etc. that you did. As long as you receive a card with an image that was handmade and its corresponding explanation, you should rate a 5. You do not have to be a good artist; just a sense of humor and fun is required!

After you've made your card, you can look up what it means and have a laugh. It will be fun to see what your partner comes up with - maybe you will have had the same idea!

After sign-ups are complete, I will email out and post below the word that you will draw. You can use any kind of method to portray this word as long as the result is handmade, so collage and mixed-media are fine and dandy.

Remember to include the swap name and your swap-bot name so you can be rated.

This is just like a round of play from my favorite game called Balderdash! I love the game and we play it at many family gatherings. Very hilarious!
