Thanks goes to atotalnobody for giving me the go ahead to copy her swap idea. The 'Whimsy Jar for Dotee's' swap that atotalnobody is hosting is very similar to this one. Click here to check out her swap, but there are a few key changes that I am making.

THIS IS A USA/CANADA ONLY SWAP!!!

SWAP DETAILS: For this swap you will send a dotee DIY kit to 1 partner. All items in the kit should be placed in a ziploc bag and can be mailed using a medium or large brown envelope, or possibly a padded envelope. But either way, the postage shouldn't be too costly to ship this type of package since the materials you will be sending won't weigh very much. Also....each person needs to list your color preferences that you would like your dotee to consist of. If color doesn't matter, just post a note that the sender can feel free to choose the colors.

The contents of the DIY bag can include but are not limited to:

  • Fabric pieces (enough for a front and a back of each color/pattern - should be no smaller than 6x6 each piece)
  • Ribbon
  • rick-rack
  • Beads
  • Buttons
  • Threads
  • Felt
  • Yarn or other appropriate fiber for hair
  • Pre-made faces or the fabric for your partner to complete the face if you don't feel comfortable designing the face yourself:)
  • Anything else you use or you think your partner might use to make a dotee doll. (little hat, accessories, etc.)
  • If you have a favorite pattern you go by to cut out your dotee, you could also send along a copy of the pattern:)

So, we will send 1 dotee diy (in a ziploc bag) to 1 partner, partner's choice of colors. Ofcourse any extra goodie(s) you would like to send to shoot for a heart would be great:)

You know what? I think it would be really nice if when we get our dotee stitched up if we would post a pic and send everyone the link to your pic. I'm sure we would all like to see all the different dotees we come up with. This is not mandatory, just a suggestion:)

I have never made a dotee doll before, but have been doing some research lately on these adorable little dolls. Can't wait to get my first little dotee stitched:)

Everyone is welcome to join in this swap. Newbies are welcome with a fully filled out profile. Everybody else must have a rating of 4.8 with no no-sends within the past 6 months.

I will try to angel this swap if we have any flakers, but I will do my best to prevent that from being necessary:)

Just joined swap bot...this is my first swap. I also just made my first dotee doll and am hooked. I love all things wild and crazy with loads of color...love beads, buttons and charms also.

I'd love easter prints/colors. I love bright colors! Yellow is my favorite color. =) I don't care for the big plastic beads.

No, you don't need to include fiberfill. Everything your partner will need to complete a dotee, except the fiberfill.
