I'd love to join but 1 week is too quick of a turn around rate.

Yay one week seems like a long time to me lol. I am wondering though is a flat canvas board okay? I thought I remembered you mention that walmart had them for like $3 for a pkg of 3 just making sure we can use those.

Robot 05/27/2009 #

yes, only the flat canvas board please.

I love Jackson Pollock - is that what you want?

one more q (sorry) its a little off subject, but using acrylics is a little new still. Should I spray or put anything on top of the painting like as a sealent when it is finished?

Laurel22 05/31/2009 #

IMHO (I painted for 9 years before changing media) for acrylics you can coat it with a varnish (designed for paintings not furniture) or something like Crystal Clear, but it's not strictly required. It sometimes accentuates the look of things if you add a coat of gloss or matte media. but again, not absolutely nessisary...

Im thinking abstract is more Pablo Picasso type stuff...............

Laurel22 06/ 1/2009 #

technically speaking, abstract means anything that doesn't look hyper realistic (aka, like a picture). Usually when people say "abstract" they are sometimes talking about non-objective paintings (Paintings like Jackson Pollock or Mark Rothko or Franz Klien) where there is no object, animal, person (ETC) represented. Other people call that non-representational. for others abstraction is more like Picasso or the other cubists. Basically there are lots of different varieties and styles of painting that could be considered "abstract"

okay, art school speech over...

Thank you laurel22 for the clarification. undxdcraftmom if you are out there. I am doing a Jackson Pollock type for you...
