Loves dogs, coffee, books, antiques, thrift shops, working on our house (it was built in 1871!), Northern Minnesota, Iowa, the Midwest, Arizona. Born in Chicago but grew up in California. I graduated with a B.A. from Iowa State University and an M.A. from the University of Iowa. Mexican food, margaritas. Tofu! I have lived in North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Illinois,California, North Carolina, Florida and Idaho.

I grow mainly heirloom vegetables, perennials, & roses. I have big plans for my backyard.

I work at a library so I adore books. Lately I have been reading either memoirs or gardening books.

VINTAGE stuff--esp. jewelry! Found objects. Things that can be repurposed.

I love to garden and make art. I love trying new art projects. I started out as a newspaper photographer but now I am working in Jewelry, fused glass, upcycling found objects, taking strange objects and turning them into wearable art. I envy people who can knit and throw pottery (I've tried both and failed at both).

I love Etsy! But I still shop on Ebay.

We live in Muscatine, Iowa--The pearl Button Capital of the World (well, it used to be!) And it is home to the muskmelon (muscatine melon) and Maid-Rites--a strange Midwestern thing. It's a loose meat sandwich. Yes, it does taste better than it sounds. It was invented here.

Our house was built in 1871--when U.S. Grant was President! and I believe it is haunted, alittle. At least our dog thinks so!

I am new to Swap-Bot--but I am looking forward to getting to know people. Perhaps even Create a Swap or 2.

As long as the swap is done with thought & care, I'll be happy!

Likes-- vintage ANYTHING, seeds, plant cuttings, old photographs, old gardening or cook books. Ephemera--old paper-y things. Steampunk supplies. junk jewerly, old brooches, old fashioed clip-on earrings--anything I can repurpose!. I do mosaics, too. So whatever can be smashed up! Love dogs, all dogs! BIG coffee drinker, love tea as well. I'll try any teas or coffees at least once. Esp. the fruit flavor teas.

Dislikes-- well, I don't sew, knit or quilt. And although I love papers and such, I don't scrapbook either. No kid-like stickers, I suppose, since I'm not sure what I would do with them. Since I am a newcomer, I'm not sure what to expect. So, other than the fact I am allergic to certain nuts (not peanuts, pecans or walnuts) I don't know if I really have a very long "Dislike" list!

I love vintage-y things, broken jewelry, mosaic bits/china pieces/old stained glass off-cuts, old brooches, chains, old books, bottlecaps etc. Foreign newspapers, foreign magazines, Stampington magazines, Mary Janes Farm. Seeds, bulbs, rose cuttings. Foreign postage stamps, old adverts.

I had an English Setter so anything with that breed on it! Magnets, old photos, no pierced earrings. Rubber stamps are fine, anything that will organize my life more (lol!)

Adore old keys! Old dog tags (for canines). Beads, findings.

Images of Frida Kahlo, Georgia O'Keeffe, any woman artist images.

Religious items--Catholic, Orthodox, Jewish, Buddhist. Old rosaries. Catholic medals (I have a small collection).

Ethnic stuff---Polish, Russian, Israeli. Anything British, Irish.

Old papers--for use in artwork. Foreign language dictionaries or a few pages from them.

No whiners, please. I am sorry if what I sent didn't meet your expectations. But everything I send is done with thought, care & love. And I usually include an extra gift. My one 3 rating is from a lousy partner who complained about everything--right down to the envelope. Get a life, people.
