My name is Lia and I am the happy wife of Mike to whom I've been married for 32 years. We have 2 grown daughters, three dogs, and lots of tropical fish including a saltwater tank set up. I love to do crafts and owned my own craft/silk wedding flower shop for 10 years. I am happiest when I am painting and am currently taking a decorative painting class at a local art center. I also do jewelry making, scrapbooking, and have designed OOAK cigar box tables. I'm anxious to try my hand at the Dotee dolls I've seen on here. Christmas is my favorite holiday because it celebrates the birth of my Savior Jesus Christ. I love to make Christmas ornaments religious as well as secular ones. I find myself drawn to sparkly things, which Christmas ornaments fulfill this love quite nicely. I also collect Hallmark Series Ornaments and have more than is legally allowable by law. lol I am a total animal lover, especially dogs, my favorite being my Yorkshire Terrier, Tiara. We also have Liberty, the black Cocker Spaniel, and Vadar, a Border Collie/Springer Spaniel mix. My home is decorated with Large Cat art prints by Harold Rigsby. I'm partial to tigers and lions, with a giraffe or two thrown in. I get excited about butterflies, pansies, parrots (the more colorful the better), peacocks, lady bugs, mermaids, and teddy bears. PURPLE RULES!! Shades of blue and green make me smile, too. The picture by my name is my full size Carousel Horse Spirit Fire. I spend a fair amount of time on Ebay, Freecycle.com, and sending and receiving e-mail. I am an enthusiastic thrift store scavenger. I'm always hunting down bargains. I hope to add Swap-bot to my time consuming activities.

I enjoy most types of music, but find myself listening mostly to classic rock, The WHO, early Beatles, Bon Jovi and Journey are some of my favorites. I also listen to classical music and especially appreciate anything by John Williams. My favorite Christian music is by Mercy Me and David Phelps.

I don't get to read as much as I really like to any more. I have a tendency to fall asleep. lol My favorite author of late is Christian author Karen Kingsbury. I love her books even though they make me cry because of their beautiful family themes.

My all time favorite movie is Funny Girl with Barbara Streisand. (I also love her voice and music, not necessarily her personal life, though) I have a thing for any Disney movie, my favorite is Little Mermaid. In general, I watch romantic comedies if given a choice. I want to be entertained, not scared to death or have to think too much.

I hate to admit it, but I like reality TV--American Idol is the best. I also watch So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With the Stars, Survivor, America's Got Talent,and the list goes on. I will watch informational TV--Dateline, 20/20, etc. I'm addicted to HGTV and all the decorating programs as well as Design Star and Food Star. The Food Channel catches my attention with all the challenges and Cake Decorating.

I touched on crafts in my about me section because crafts are a big part of who I am. I am a bit blue since we closed my craft shop over a year ago. I still look anywhere I go for new craft ideas and supplies. I have tons of acrylic beads and craft supplies that I'd love to swap with people. If anyone has a thing for ribbon, I OWN ribbon paradise. lol I am most interested in swapping craft related items and supplies.

I am addicted to chocolate, especially dark chocolate. Have you tried the chocolate turnovers at Arby's? OMGOSH they are incredible. Dark chocolate M&Ms are quite satisfying, too, as well as dark chocolate Milky Ways.
As far as other flavors I like citrus, lemon, orange, lime. I dislike cherry, watermelon and sour/green apple. As far as "regular" food goes I love seafood, especially shrimp, unbreaded. I do eat crab, but am usually too lazy to crack the shells/legs. lol I like steak and burgers, as well as chicken, grilled. I don't do too much fast food but have been into Subway lately. Anything with bacon is wonderful.

I love handmade items. Dotee dolls, fairies,mermaids, santas, anything crafted with love ATCs shiney and sparkly items suncatchers, crystals, beaded purses (the older the better) vintage postcards and lace figure and/or shaped buttons funky beads (multi color, strange shapes) dark chocolate miscellaneous small items for whimsy jars small note pads and cards surprises :-)
