As a single mom who is now an empty nester, I am beginning a new phase in my life with excitement and eagerness. This is the time I am getting to explore my interests, dreams and passions. So far I am enjoying both traditional crafts and the new to me fiber arts. I also enjoy working in my yard and grow edible landscape using herbs and vegetables where I can.
I enjoy most music styles so long as they do not "scream" at me. My mood or activity usually dictates what I choose to listen to. I am however, a forever Elvis fan.
I read mostly for pleasure and escape. I love books that make me feel connected to the characters and is almost a startle to return to "real life". My recent top favorites have been, Hotel on the Corner of Biter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. This story takes place where I live, which has an added element for me. I also was able to meet the author and the daughter of the only character that was real. Great read, which I highly recommend. I have also enjoyed Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen; These is My Words, by Nancy E. Turner; Ten Cents a Dance, by Christine Fletcher and Griffin & Sabine by Nick Bantock.
I must admit to being a reality TV fan, with restrictions. I do not like overly obnoxious shows, but do enjoy Survivor, Project Runway and Loggers. I like to watch how other people live their ordinary lives. I also enjoy a good comedy.
I am currently in an orange/green/brown/purple phase. Think Amy Butler. I also love the current style trend of birds and birds on branches. Other things I enjoy: Ladybugs Rabbits and Easter Bunnies Flowers Purses Unique Containers or re-purposed items for containers Unique Beads and Buttons Vintage stickers, cards and postcards and photos. I love wondering what their lives were like and who they were.
I do not care for Vanilla scented items and prefer natural vs artificial scents. I also do not like dark, morose or skull themed items. I am more of a sunny bright person.
