Hi! I'm new here. My name is Simone, I am in my mid 30's, and recently re-discovered pen palling again, and then stumbled upon this amazing site.. I have a strong love for stationery, mail art, pens and paper.

I am an art lover, love the outdoors, I consider myself spiritual but not religious.

I am an entrepreneur and have a bit of a rebellious streak, and am a tomboy at heart. I was raised in a small town that felt stifling sometimes growing up, but very much appreciate the small town values I was raised with, to be good, helpful, cheerful and kind. I am very thankful of the good people I have and have had in my life; good people have made all the difference!

Things I like are: kawaii, cute illustrations, Japanese stationery, European stationery, paper, pens, letters, interesting ideas, anything off the beaten path, mildly offensive and weird are ok with me too. I love design, mostly modern design. I like rural country themes sometimes, but lean more towards minimalism. I love worldly things, items collected from travels, that tell a story.

I HATE GLITTER with a passion! Not big on religious, political ephemera, mainstream media like "Game of Thrones, "Harry Potter", etc. I don't dislike these necessarily, I just don't know anything about them.

Books are a passion and I read mostly non-fiction. Some favorites are Letters of Note and Lists of Note. I love self-help, spirituality, business biographies, home decoration and projects and how-to's. I do occasionally read comics (based on cartoons) or graphic novels. I have recently become very interested in zines after seeing some at Art Basel. I love quirky zines.

I am not into television much, but when I do watch it is usually social and cultural documentaries. I am very interested in seeing how other people live.
