I'm creeping up on the big 3-0! Yikes! How'd that happen? I have a good hubby who claims to be 39 and holding. We have two lovely little ones who aren't so little anymore.
I can't claim one hobby. I like to do too many different things. I enjoy crochet, sewing, embroidery, quilting, reading, baking, backyard-scientist stuff (I homeschool one of the kids), and general crafting. I also like going to church, singing (only when I can't be heard...I'm awful!), and playing computer games like Virtual Villagers.
children's praise music (I know, call me weird) and I don't know what you'd call it, but country-ish praise music. At church we call it pickin'-n-grinnin' whatever that means!
I read a lot of different kinds of books, and have read in the past a lot more... I really enjoy a lot of the kids books, I think because then my poor tired brain doesn't have to think too much. lol Some favorites:
Anne of Green Gable series, My Side of the Mountain trilogy, Little Women, just about anything by Beverly Cleary, Dragon Riders of Pern series, Alex Rider series, Stuart Little, just about anything by Roald Dahl, stuff by Janette Oke, biographies, historical fiction, Christian mystery, and probably a lot more that I'm not thinking of right now.
Parent Trap the original, Swiss Family Robinson, The Little Mermaid, House of Cards, Lorenzo's Oil, What Women Want, Thunder in Paradise, Two Weeks Notice, You've Got Mail, and titles of movies just went completely blank from my head, but I love good movies...lots of them. Just no blood/guts/gore/horror stuff. Blech. I like funny or sweet or at least thought-provoking (though not in a DEEP make my brain hurt kind of way) stuff.
I don't watch TV much at all. Ever. If I had cable, I would probably try to catch Myth-Busters and some of the other Discovery and/or Learning type shows, but that's about it. Oh! I watch the British comedies if I remember they're on and there's not a telethon going!
crochet, sewing, quilting, embroidery, kids crafts (still trying to get my kids to catch the crafting bug...so far no such luck)
I love country stuff. Denim. Lots of denim. And daisies. Lots of daisies. =) I also like the color red. A lot. I like to decorate in themes. My kitchen will one day be a 1950s diner covered in Coca-Cola stuff (I can dream, right?). My bathroom will one day look and feel as though you are stepping under the ocean (I have plans for a rowboat bottom attached to the ceiling...too cute!). My bedroom is nautical like a captain's berth(?) because hubby was in the Coast Guard and that's what he wants. My dining room is our classroom, so that's the theme there. And my living room is denim, daisies, patriotic, and kinda western/countryish with bandanas thrown in. Red, white, and blue...cause I also like patriotic stuff! =)
Ok, so now that I've actually seen some other profiles, I see mine wasn't quite flowing along the right lines. Sooo...here are some things that I'd go ga-ga over finding in my mailbox.
*denim things *daisy things *Coca-Cola stuff, but not-so-much the polar bears *BRIGHT colored stuff (I like bright!) *fabric *Christian things (devotionals, maybe?) *red or red/white things *miniature just about anything (they're sooo cute!)
Hubby is the family genealogical buff. It's all way too confusing for me, but he's been smitten. He is also in love with HO trains, specifically anything and everything D&RGW.
My 10yo daughter is about everything "princessy". That's her word for anything pink, purple, lt blue (Cinderella wore blue), or glittery. Her favorite princess is Cinderella, of course. She also likes cats, but not crafts. She likes to be outside doing physical stuff like climbing trees.
My 9yo son digs superheroes. Spiderman and Superman especially. Here lately he's also shown a big interest in Transformers. He's a huge dog lover. He has a tie collection. Strange, but true. He loves his ties!
Not too much for this list. I am not allergic to much, so no worries there. My son is allergic to nuts, so HE can't have nuts, but I do occasionally sneak me some chocolate with peanuts or peanut butter or almonds (because it's sooo good and I miss it!) if I'm out of town. haha!
*I don't like dark stuff like vampirey-gothicy stuff *I don't really collect stuff like ATCs, stamps, postcards, etc. *I don't scrapbook (I know, I know...I probably SHOULD, but I just never have)

I just realized I didn't mention the baby boy scrapbook stickers in my comment. Thank you very much! :)
