Nickname is “Sunshine HoneyBee.” “Sunshine” was my nickname when I lived in FL. “HoneyBee” is the Greek translation/meaning of my first name “Melissa.”

Grew up on E coast of FL. Moved to Dallas, TX to work for Texas Instruments. Not a Dallas Cowboy fan. Use to be a Miami Dolphin fan when Dan Marino was QB and before that when Bob Griese was QB and team was a Super Bowl team. Live in Plano, TX, (we had our 1st White Christmas 12/25/2009) home of Frito Lay & JC Penney, which is approx 15 miles N of Dallas. Married. Have 1 daughter. Have a dog that is a mixed breed Hound. Was a computer: software project manager & software engineer for 20 yrs. Work at a Hallmark store.

Hobbies

Hobbies include: calligraphy, cardmaking, crocheting, digital photography, embossing & scrapbooking.

Learned calligraphy before my daughter was born. Learned the old fashion way with a pen that you dip the nib into the India ink. Now I use a calligraphy fountain pen with changeable nibs & ink cartridges and calligraphy markers.

I enjoy cardmaking & yes you did read correctly I work at a Hallmark store where I also buy cards. I like to do embossing. I use Sizzix die cuts, Sizzix Texture Boutique, punches & more. I embellish with blending chalk, glitter paint, ribbon & more.

Learned to crochet when I was in high school. First learned granny squares. Did not enjoy joining the squares so instead I made an afghan as a granny square that I kept going around & around. I still have the pink & white afghan. Next I learned Broomstick Lace & made a shawl from pastel blue Angora yarn that a friend gifted to me. When I moved to TX I learned to read & understand crochet patterns which I have a lot of now. I enjoy crocheting items that work up quickly especially holiday ones.
