Updated frequently. Last messed around with: 3 Apr. '14.
Took a very long break from swaps, but now I'm back :) Had 2 1s on my profile for flaking right before I took a sabbatical, and I messaged both of my poor partners to pay back. Have sent 1 of the swaps (my awesome and understanding partner changed my 1 to a 3) and the other partner appears to be gone from the site. I'd be happy to angel in any swap I sign up for or host as a way to pay back the community, or I can explain my absence via PM if anyone needs answers.
Moved back in with my mother after 7 years on my lonesome, finally resettled, and working full time at a vet clinic, still surrounded by dogs and cats. OH so yes, all my swaps will come from a home with pet hair. PM me ASAP if this is a problem for you and I will find a way to make sure you don't get anything fluffy (crafting in the garage? At least I'd be out of the wind!).
Getting by in a long distance relationship. The boyfriend is only about a 9 hour drive away, but it seems very far. He thinks my swaps are the weirdest thing, but he's super fascinated. He's jealous when I am frequently reporting that I've got mail.
I'm outspoken and actively feminist, and I try to make my style of feminism intersectional, always. It's a journey, it's something I'm working very hard on. I need to be better so I can make the world we live in better. Pro-bodily autonomy, pro-inclusion, pro-marriage equality, pro-not being sanctimonious.
I'm not particularly religious, but as long as you're not preaching to me or trying to convert me, I'm fine to see hints and mentions of your faith in your swaps. :)
I'm trying to learn yoga right now, and not doing great at it. But I'm super enjoying the process. Next up on my list of things to learn -- 4 + 5 strand braiding my own hair.
I got my very first cross stitch kit recently and it's very slow going -- but I love it!
Postcards, photos, superheores (especially Marvel), lists of things, big dogs, small dogs, dogs that are in more of a mid-range, lemonade, dancing around like a lunatic, anything kitschy, crests (like family crests), dark chocolate, shouting at the screen when I'm watching movies or tv, light houses, bats, volleyball, taking long naps, umbrellas, any animals, designing tattoos I can never get, hair clips and bows, lizards, snakes, frogs, reptiles and amphibians in general, robots, trees, pin up girls (and boys), octopus/squid/anything with tentacles, gluing bits of paper together, windmills, lighthouses, vegetables, washi tape, Cornish Rexes, cats in general I guess so long as they don't bite me too hard, black and white photography, rhinestones, did I mention dogs?, using fancy scrapbook paper to create secret world domination plans, absolutely anything Edward Gorey...
Favourite colours are yellow, green, red, grey-scale. Least favourite is blue, but by no means do I hate it. All the colours are equally excellent.
Craft wise, I'm trying to learn cross stitch. @kiddo47 sent me an awesome kit that I need to start on. Sock monkey, ftw!
I am in love with friendship books, decos, and slams. Always looking for new swaps of these things, so PM me if you want to set something up.
I love postcards and flat mail swaps -- penpal letters, stuffed envelopes, stickers, papers, etc -- and open to the idea of one on one swaps.
[books/authors] JK Rowling's Harry Potter series (Hufflepuff pride!), George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series, Terry Prachett, Juliet Marillier, Christopher Moore, Tamora Pierce, Neil Gaiman, JRR Tolkien, Victor Hugo, John Green, John Connolly.
[stage] Shakespeare (Much Ado About Nothing is my favourite), Les Miserables (my all time favourite anything), Fiddler on the Roof, Wicked, The Wizard of Oz, The Odd Couple, Into The Woods, Lysistrata, anything Cole Porter, tick, tick... BOOM, big love/hate relationship with The Phantom of the Opera, The Importance of Being Earnest. Basically everything and anything. 7 years of classic theatre training makes any and all theatregoing an awesome experience. And like, a chance for me to be overly critical, but in the good way.
[tv] Leverage, Supernatural, Firefly, Star Trek (TOS and TNG), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Battlestar Galactica (new version), Doctor Who, Adventure Time, Community, Nurse Jackie, Psych, Veronica Mars, Top Gear, How I Met Your Mother, Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Bee and Puppycat, Archer, Bob's Burgers, Project Runway
[comics] Young Avengers, Hawkeye, DC New 52 Wonder Woman, Birds of Prey, the new Captain Marvel, Adventure Time, Sandman, Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes
[movies] Newsies, Love Actually, Muppets anything, The Emperor's New Groove, The Mighty Ducks Trilogy, Lord of the Rings, Dead Poets Society, Empire Records, Dogma, The Wizard of Oz, Captain America.
[music] The Tragically Hip, Josh Ritter, The Beatles, Rilo Kiley, Sloan, Vienna Teng, Motion City Soundtrack, Rufus Wainwright, Fall Out Boy, OK Go, Queen, The Wailin' Jennys, The Rescues, Little Mix, Sara Bareilles, Great Big Sea, One Direction (yep, unashamedly, unironically), Tilly and The Wall, a million other things that I can't think of right now.
Flat mail swaps are usually where you'll find me -- postcards, letters, notecards -- but I'm trying to branch out into more crafty type things.
I was having some trouble with Canada Post, but in the last month or so they've been awesome! I think the recent announcement that they're cutting jobs has motivated everyone to be better. Good for me, bad for them, the definition of bittersweet.
I always rate the same day I get your swap, even if sometimes I'm rating from my phone. Love my smartphone! If much time is elapsing since you sent and I haven't rated yet, please PM me. My mother brings in the mail some days and things can easily get misfiled.
Anything with pictures/info of sharks. Sharks terrify the living daylights out of me! And for some reason, I'm finding that Diddl really creeps me out too.
Allergy wise, nothing with pineapple, rabbit fur, or lots of red food colouring. And you know, preferably nothing that will try to murder me when it gets out of the box.
In the grand scheme of things, I am happy to receive anything -- just opening the mailbox and finding something for me that isn't a letter about my student loans is joy enough!

Thank you so much for the huge package of slams! Truth be told, I was all confused as I'd forgotten about it from back over winter. But I'm so glad you remembered (even if I didn't) and I hope you're settling in well from your move. Lots of love and hearts to you. xoxo

Thank you for your comment! I love Les Mis so much, but it's such a small fandom so it's always so nice when you meet someone who likes it as well!
