Hi! I'm Amy. I'm a photographer, writer and artist currently in Olympia, WA. I moved here about a year ago from TX. Prior to moving there I moved just about every 3 years for my whole life. (Ahh, the life of the military dependent.) I've misplaced or damaged a lot of material possessions during my moves but the things I hate to do without are my photos, my camera, my books and my art supplies. About 9 years ago I lost my entire collection of old photos and letters and all of my books and I couldn't have been more devastated. But it's okay! I'm well on my way once again. I'm a fine art junkie. I live for pretty words, especially spoken-word poetry. I appreciate all things creative. I suffer from an incurable wanderlust. I've been on a real galaxy print craze lately and I'm an absolute Starbucks addict. Very nice to meet you!
I joined SB mainly for the art and for new friendships and connections. I think that due to my constant moving I developed a love for keeping pen pals. I really do adore the idea of swapping anything and everything and I thoroughly enjoy and intend on personalizing each item I send out. (According to the nature of the swap and as much as the rules and my partner's profile allow, of course) I'm a firm believer that one crafter's trash is another crafter's treasure.
Repurpose, reuse and upcycle!!
To put it simply, I'm a complete nerd, a romantic, an art and literature junkie and I'm in love with positivity and human interaction. Call me a modern day hippie or a beatnik or whatever have you. I can't help it. I love love itself, I adore nature, animals, I love anything geared toward bath/beauty/relaxation, arts/crafts/diy, literature, comic books/superheroes, zombies!! and Asian culture. I'm also absolutely obsessed with all things alien and/or outer space!!.
You can't go wrong with...
* BOOKS!!
* pens of all colors
* markers
* pencils
* blank notebooks, especially composition books and spirals in college rule
* photos of anything and everything
* vintage photographs
* vintage cameras-don't let your old cameras collect dust, send them my way! :)
* unused 35mm film
* used undeveloped film
* film canisters
* stuff that smells good and/or makes me smell good
* stuff that tastes good (yay snacks!!)
* cute stuff (pandas, penguins, kawaii, etc)
* yarns
* threads
* crochet, knitting and sewing needles
* paints
* paint brushes
* paper and stationary sets
* vintage clothing (love thrift store dresses!)
* (vintage anything, really!)
* hair and body accessories
* seeds and pretty pots to plant them in
* colorful things
* buttons
* snow globes make me happy
* rose, gardenia, orchid and cherry blossom anything
* anything stars/space/galaxy/nebula print!!!
* slippers, socks and flip flops!! (size 7 or 7.5)
* seamless leggings and seamless footless tights in crazy prints!
* flavored lip balm/gloss
* zombie stuff
* nerd gear (comics, figurines, buttons, superhero anything, Batman, Spider-Man, V for Vendetta, Iron Man, homemade cape I can attach to my tshirts...please?) :p
* "Mary Jane" paraphernalia :)
* Atheist paraphernalia
* ...anything at all, really. I love surprises.
My favorite colors are various shades of blue, pink, purple and I always love black. My favorite scents are sweet ones like coconut, vanilla or brown sugar and I also love rose, lavender and minty stuff (like those awesome tingly shampoos). I don't have a bathtub in my apartment so bubbles won't work for me (unfortunately) but I love soaps, scrubs and loofahs. I'm obsessed with trying new skin and hair products.
The only thing I can add to my "do not send" list is any religious or faith based items (I'm an atheist), unless the item is vague and decorative. For example, I have a beautiful Buddhist painting that depicts a lotus flower and some abstract figures which I believe to be monks. However, a painting like The Last Supper wouldn't work for me. (I don't mean to offend and I completely support everyone's freedom to believe and live however they see fit.) I am not a fan of the smell of tobacco smoke and pet hair can be a pain, but if I can clean it, wash it or air it out, I don't have any qualms with receiving an item from a smoking home or a home with pets.

Thank-you so very much for taking the time to send such a nice package from my July wishlist in the $1 Store Addicts group for my youngest daughter. It really cheered her up and was much appreciated!
