Hello! I am a California girl who enjoys crafting and mail ... what you do too?!! ... well fancy meeting you here ;) LOL!
Besides crafting and writing, I enjoy traveling, reading, cooking/baking, movies, music, playing games (video, card and board), crossword puzzles and sudokus, shopping and gardening.
My family and friends, plus ...
Pretty bunny and panda items ... for a long time I volunteered at a rabbit rescue organization hence the name "BuniGrrl" and pandas because my sister is a panda fanatic (seriously! She has an entire room in her house dedicated to her panda collection ... LOL! I'm not so bad with the bunnies, but I do have enough Christmas ornaments that my tree is exclusively buns ... so cute!).
Letter writing supplies (nice stationery, pretty envelopes, gel pens, pens/ink for calligraphy, sealing wax, stickers, paper punches)
Sewing supplies (fabric, thread, buttons, notions)
Origami paper, waxed linen, beads, craft magazines
Cute/Kuwaii things. I used to live in Japan and really love the people, food and culture from there. My favorite characters are Miffy, My Melody, Tin Tin, Paul Frank's Bunny Girl and Worry Bear, Sugar Bunnies, Afro Ken and Totoro.
I think all colors are beautiful. My personal palette tends towards neutral colors (black, white, brown, khaki) with splashes of color (red, pink, blue, green).
I'm not a fan of scary things even though as a kid, Halloween was one of my favorite holidays. I was in it for the candy :)
I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades (master of none) when it comes to crafts. I'm best known for cross-stitch (most recent project-a tardis iphone cover) and basketry (weaving everything from traditional materials like pine needles and willow to less traditional materials like wire and fabric). I'm working on improving my sewing, card making and crochet skills. Occasionally I make zines or beaded jewelry. I like cute recycle/up cycle projects like turning baby socks into cat toys. At some point I plan to learn to knit as well, but haven't quite gotten there...one day!
I'm a big fan of animation ... anything Miyazaki (My Neighbor Totoro and Spirited Away are faves), Muppets, Wallace & Gromit, Tintin, etc.
Also Japanese cinema (Kurosawa, Ozu), indie films, documentaries, and smart comedies (like Best in Show, not like Big Daddy).
My fondest movie-related desire is for Whit Stillman to make movies again. (He finally did! Yay!)
I listen to everything from punk to opera. A few favorite artists are: Ben Folds, David Sylvian, The Frames/Swell Season, The Shins, Ben Sollee, The Beach Boys, David Bowie, Chet Baker, Jon Brion, Nick Cave, Henry Rollins, The Smiths.
I've always loved to read. My library card probably gets more use than my credit card! Lately I've been reading a lot of military related books because I now work with Army officers and want to better understand my "industry". I'm in two book clubs, but otherwise read for my own enjoyment. I'll read any genre if the writing's good and the ideas are interesting, but I do have a soft spot for children's classics (Baum, Tolkien, CS Lewis who is genius in other areas as well), sci-fi and PG Wodehouse.

Thank you so much for all the beautiful halloween cards. I love the snoopy one too. I am sorry to hear about your dog, JoJo. I was very greatful to have my daughter around as well after the same thing happened to me with both my cat and dog of 12 years in the same 2 weeks. No still no spring yet. We had a huge snow storm 2 weeks ago. About 3 feet so that is still every where. I can not wait for spring. I love gardening. Lucky you, wearing shorts already. :p
thank you again.

Was impressed by your zine list of titles and saw several to put on my reading list! I only have two of the books from your list in my personal collection. They are Moby Dick and The Tale of Peter Rabbit. I was surprised there were not more shared titles. I have read more books on the list but do not own those titles. Hmm.. I don't think I have any books with angel in the title. Thomas Wolfe's Look Homeward Angel is one I want to reread. I liked the inclusion of Angel Fish Care for Begginers. :). Thank you again for being in this swap and the things you sent. I'm glad you enjoyed the swap!
