Born in Australia to Dutch parents I am now living in the US with my loving husband, 2 girls 11 and 13, a dog, 3 cats, 2 gerbils, a leopard gecko and african dwarf frog. If I let the girls have their way we would be living in a zoo! I am a stay at home mum whose favorite things are to bake and create. Give me my Starbucks and a day free to sit in my craft room and I would be in heaven. Unfortunately with two active girls that rarely happens. My older daughter is a dancer and is obsessed with animals. Her latest fascination is reptiles but she loves all creatures. My younger daughter is a crafter - she is always making something - we got her a sewing machine of her own for her birthday last year and so now she is sewing things too.

I love to create and dabble in a little of everything. I love paper crafts especially scrapbooking, card making and have just gotten more into mixed media. I also love to quilt and sew - mostly tote bags and such - I used to sew all my kids clothes but sadly that's not cool anymore :( though my younger daughter is beginning to sew some things for herself. I also like to knit as long as it's a quick project like scarves - I want to try knitting a hat next....

I have always been a reader - my mum could hardly keep me with a stack of books when I was a kid because I read fast. I like just about everything from Jane Austen and the Bronte girls to Jodi Picolt, the whole "Girl with a dragon Tattoo" series, the Harry Potter books, Twilight series and more. I don't really care for the true romance novels - more mysteries and fantasy.

Starbucks coffee Black teas Dark chocolate Favorite color - blue, with red a close second but I also like pinks and greens. Favorite things to collect - birds, mushrooms (the red with white spot kind) and gnomes, old children's books, vintage items Favorite craft items - old books (especially children's books) old sheet music, and ribbon and lace. Style - I'm a plain and simple type of girl with a hint of ribbon and lace. I don't do glitter or sparklie stuff very often though I have been known to play with Stickles. I like linen and Zakka style things. Have started getting into mixed media.
