Oops! Now I'm a 80-year-old retired elementary teacher living in Salem, Oregon, USA. I taught for nearly 40 years in all grades kindergarten thru 6th grade. Also taught for the local humane society and went into schools in 2 counties encouraging humane care of animals. I was married (57 years) and have 4 grown children and 3 grandchildren.
I enjoy making greeting cards, artist trading cards with all sorts of stuff, making postcards with paper or fabric, and inchies and twinchies. I've been making 5-inch jointed paper dolls that fit on an ATC and larger sized paper dolls too.. I'm just starting to experiment with alcohol inks. You can see some of the ATCs I've made on my flicker site. I love gathering lots of new ideas! I love taking classes to learn a new technique and share ideas with others. Recently branching out into zines and other writing too. Fun to learn new things!
Favorite books-- Science Fiction and some Fantasy, Mystery, Historical Fiction (recently hooked on mysteries in ancient Rome by Lindsay Davis), Children's books. My favorite children's book is still The Secret Garden. Loved it since I was a kid.
Favorite TV-- PBS series and Masterpiece Mysteries, Nova, Frontline. I don't like programs that have shoot-em-ups and violence.
Favorite movies--Butterfly Effect, Sliding Doors, Midnight in Paris, Musicals old and new, Old Film Noir. I go to a local theater with friends sometimes to see the old movies (like Casablanca) on the big screen.
Colors: I like most colors, but not fond of muddy mixes. I'm very drawn to greens and blues and "beachy" color combinations.
Styles: I like art deco and art nouveau, impressionist and other vintage art.
Wish List--Vintage pictures, postcards, letters and ephemera. interesting bits, and whatever!
