Hello, I'm a library school grad student at Indiana University. I went to Oberlin College for undergrad in art history. And now have somehow found myself living in Bloomington, Indiana with my boyfriend. I don't like it too much to be perfectly honest.

I've lived in other more awesome destinations, Paris, Copenhagen (Denmark) and London. I studied abroad in Denmark and worked in a pub for 4 months in London. In that time, I drank a lot of Carlsberg and Samuel Smith's beer, respectively. I love beer and trying different kinds! I'll try it all once though Guinness is just gross.

While I lost my job last week, I'm trying to work in libraries as much as possible. My concentration is rare books. I love old musty fascinating books. The best thing about Bloomington is definitely the Lilly Library, the rare books library.

I like crafty things but I mainly love to cross-stitch and make jewelry. I'm also just starting to crochet. Sometimes, I get frustrated too easily with new things so hopefully I'll stick with the crochet.

It shouldn't be surprising that I love to read.

Or that I love to travel. I've solo backpacked as well as with a partner throughout Europe with hostels and trains. I've also been to Kyoto, Japan which was a crazy and fascinating trip while an undergrad in a Buddhism class.

i wouldn't watch tv if i didn't cross-stitch. i just like to have something on while doing stuff.

love the little prince, king arthur retellings,books on art history, the middle ages, women's history, art and architecture history, books about books, artist's books, small books, unusual bindings on books

if the book is interesting, i want it. whether it's the cover or the text.

cross-stitch. it's addictive and stress-relieving and i've been doing it since i was 10 years old. i also like searching for cool frames and different things to stitch on. my cross-stitch is unconventional and "offensive" depending on who you ask. so you were warned before you visited my Etsy shop link

currently starting my first crochet project for an afghan. assuming that'll be done in, oohhh, 10 years.

also, just got a sublime stitching book to make some neat embroideries. plan on making an awesome tote bag with the sexy librarian transfers.

i enjoy making jewelry but i also used to live closer to an incredible bead store. bead paradise in oberlin ohio (sigggh) has the most unique and largest selection of beads anywhere. now i have access to a michael's and joann's so i mainly only design for myself and am selling it less as i'm less inspired by the beads themselves. sometimes i'll still make a piece if i find the right stuff with someone in mind.

my two favorite bands are probably the decemberists and gogol bordello. i have a thing for epic folksy stuff and for gypsy inspired punk.

some other bands i love: radiohead, xiu xiu, blonde redhead, joanna newsom, justin timberlake (what can i say? he's a babe), iron and wine, sufjan stevens, regina spektor

Jewelry: I love BIG earrings. Prefer silver but I'm not picky. Kitschy, fun, bright colors, unusual but still pretty. I don't wear a lot of other jewelry but I like nice simple necklaces and pendants.

Embroideries: I love seeing other people's work. Cross-stitch, embroidery, anything made with a hand and a needle.

Food: I'm just starting out in an apartment with my boyfriend. Neither of us can cook but he's much worse! I love easy recipes that are affordable as we are both poor grad students. I also have a new found love of all types of curries. I also have a crock-pot that I haven't used so I need recipes for that too. Oh and baking is always good!

Floss!: I always want new colors of 6 strand floss. I also love the special colors...neon, satin, glow in the dark (which I can't find around here), linen.

Books: As a rare books major, I love books. All books. Sometimes, I buy books just because they are pretty or they strike me as interesting. Most of the time, I still buy them to read them. New or used I will find them a good home.

Other things I love: Library or book themed geekiness, snarky and unusual artwork and cards, shot glasses from different places, vintage postcards, maps (any and all), anything travel related, travel accessories related to backpacking/cheap traveling, hippos, beads, frames, oh and did i mention hippos, specifically purple ones!

Stuff I'm not into: scrapbooking, super religious items (i find religion interesting, all different kinds, just nothing pushy), twilight (i read it, that was plenty)
