Hello All!
I'm Kara, 30 from Kansas City. I have 3 kiddos, a girl and two boys (9,8,2). Quit pediatric nursing to be a SAHM. One of my children is on the spectrum which might make our life look a little different to other people. We're an active family and enjoy being outdoors. When we're not checking out the wildlife, we are crafting, playing games, and writing letters together.
I moved around A LOT as a kid. The longest I'd lived in any one place before 16 was in McAllen, Texas for 6 months. I attended 20+ grade schools (I lost track) before dropping out at 16 and started taking college courses. Texas and Florida were my favorite places to live, because I love the heat and the ocean. Arkansas and Maryland were my least favorite states, no offense to anyone who prefers those places.
For hobbies & interests, I like to craft with paper, prayer journal, doodle, meditate, run, listen to podcasts or music, and bake. (We don't eat refined sugar, processed foods, or wheat for health reasons, so making baked goods that taste awesome can sometimes be a puzzle to solve.) I like puzzles, too. ;) Trying new teas is something I enjoy. I don't go a single day without drinking tea and I rarely skip a day of eating super dark chocolate. Yum!
Making snail mail is the perfect hobby for me. Various styles of crafting, giving gifts, handwriting, and opening up or being supportive to others are all right up my alley.
I have an INFJ (Myers-Briggs) personality. I'm idealistic, kind, loyal, and empathetic. I like octopuses, Victorian age hair art, and finding old letters in thrift store books. I'm a people watcher; the differences and commonalities of people and their experiences fascinate me. I am curious about the perspective of others.
I believe we are all created different on purpose. A motto I live by is: Be Art & Be Blessed!
Open to starting up new penpalships. Send me a letter & I will happily respond. :)
I have eclectic tastes in general; music is no different.
Indie Christian music, like VYLW, Cass, Eikon, & Isla Vista Worship.
I grew up listening to Nirvana, Sublime, Weezer, The Cardigans, Led Zeppelin, Matisyahu, and Beastie Boys among others. They're still in the rotation when a nostalgic mood strikes.
Etta James, The Emotions, The Temptations, The Beatles, James Taylor are some oldies I reach for on occasion.
When I make mail for pen pals late at night, I like to listen to instrumental piano. Dappy T Keys on YouTube is my go-to pianist. He's incredibly talented and his sessions go on forever.
I'm usually reading multiple books at a time. Paulo Coelho, Chuck Palahnuik are two of my favorite authors. I enjoy books on spirituality, relationships, meditation/contemplation, and psychological thrillers with crazy twists at the end.
My eyes are greedy and will happily feast on just about anything, but I do have some happy mail preferences that will guarantee a heart from me to you.

Please do not send me anything that's related to witchcraft (Harry Potter & Halloween items are OK) or politics (including partisan ideas & social agendas).
We all have our own opinions and that's fantastic, but I know I won't enjoy these sorts of items. I want to give you a heads up, so you can save them for someone who will appreciate them!
I don't particularly like the swap info written on the outside of the envelope. If it's possible within the swap's parameters, I'd prefer PC's to be unused & sent with a separate note.
I click 'Sent' when I put the swap in the mailbox or drop it off at the post office. If I happen to miss the collection time, it will likely be processed the following business day.
