Response: You are so very welcome. Scratchboard is one of the things I LOVE to do. And trees are amazing - all different shapes and sizes and textures. So glad you loved it!
Response: Oh that is marvelous!!!! A favorite from little ol' me - hehe. I do love doing alcohol ink flowers. They are so free and unique.
Response: This was the first time I did a string pull technique - though I had wanted to do it for a very long time. Was a bit of trial and error before I got down how to do it properly. Happy you liked it. Enjoy the great outdoors :-)
Response: So pleased you liked the scratchboard ATC. Sometimes I can't get enough of doing scratchboard.
Response: Your response made me chuckle! And I am glad you liked the ATC and didn't see a mess. Hahaha!
Response: Awwwww shucks! Ha! I do love doing scratchboard - for me it is like drawing with a pencil.
Response: Glad you loved it! Scratchboard is such fun to do.
Response: For about 8-10 years I have chosen a word to live by all year. It has been a really beneficial and growing experience. So when I read you have a word this year, I knew I HAD to include that in the ATC for you. And you are right - nature rules!!!!
Response: Joanne - thanks for the wonderful comments about my alcohol ink flower. They are so much fun to do because you never know exactly what you will get as a result. You are gonna be missed!!! I am sad that I won't be surprised when I get the mail and then open it and see what new fun thing you created. I hope we can definitely stay in touch - somehow.
Response: I TOTALLY agree with you. First time for me too. I made so many mistakes on my first attempt, which was unusable. But themnthe one I made for you came together nicely. Glad to have this swap behind me - ha!
Response: Oh great!!! I am glad you liked it. Kind of intimidating making something I have never done and sending it to the "creator" of this idea - so to speak. Ha!
Response: So pleased you enjoyed it all. Loved doing the heart with the gelatos. Can't quite get enough of them lately!!
Response: Awesome!!! I am glad I can inspire you to get into using your alcohol inks more. That are so much fun and creates things you can't get any other way. Enjoy!
Response: You are welcome. So happy to be creative for you and send you something organic looking.
Response: You are right - it was returned for postage and it aggravated me until I realized it was my bad - because I forgot to put an international stamp on it. It just seems like Canada is our neighbor - not international. Hahaha! So I am glad you enjoyed the ATC - it was fun to do.
Response: Awwwwww thank you!!! To be completely transparent - I almost kept this ATC because I loved the blue and green combination for the heart, as it's not the usual red heart design. But now I am so happy I sent it to you - it was meant for you :-) It's always an honor when someone would like to do private swaps! What kind of artwork do you do on ATCs? I wish we could attach photos somehow on Swapbot. Send me a message :-)
Response: Yup the scratchboard is of a raccoon. Definitely your daughter will know - hehe. BUT I think I forgot to put the "R" on the ATC - darn it. I realized it right after I put it in the slotted mailbox and I couldn't get it back out. So sorry! Feel free to scratch in an "R".
Glad you loved the notecard and envelope :-)
Response: Oh great! I love it when I can inspire another artist to experiment too. Yay!!!
Response: You are so very welcome. So happy you liked the scratchboard art.
Response: Thanks! It was so hard to know which one to send, as they were all different, but still had the same feel. I love the evening glow and it kind of reminded me of that.
Response: So glad you liked it! It was like making a dragon with a more serious twist than your cute ones. Love your!!
Response: You are very welcome. The colors reminded me of Springtime daffodils. Sure will be nice to actually see them hopefully soon. But we just got more snow today soooo it will probably be awhile yet.
Response: Thanks for your kind words. I always wonder if people keep the notecard and envelope as a separate piece of art. Now I know that at least you do :-) So glad you enjoy my artwork.
Response: Hahahaha - yes I guess I do have a signature look don't I. Glad you liked the zentangleish peace sign. :-)
Response: Every time I looked at it, it made me giggle. So glad you liked it enough to be encouraged to try alcohol ink. It is great fun. And I especially like the drama you can get using black paper. Of course you have to put down white ink first and then add the color after that. Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions.
Response: Oh good!!!! I didn't think it was too much of a risk to to send a ghost in February, after reading your profile. Glad you appreciated it.
Response: So very happy you liked the ATC so well. I have always wanted to do the string pull thing to make flower patterns. So you got to be my guinea pig - ha!
Response: What a wonderful response! You have put a big smile on my face. When I did that corrugated cardboard technique for another swap, I am so glad I made extra pressings of it, so that I could make more - and make one for you :-)
Response: You are welcome. Watercolor is so much fun. So much to explore and experience.
Response: Oh thank you very much! It was a lot of fun being free to do whatever tangles I wanted. And bringing back the hippie influences from the 70's. hehe
Response: Yay!!!! For my first one, I wasn't sure if this is what is expected. Tried to keep it kind of wide open as to how artists could interpret the bubbles. Can't wait to eventually see a finished one come back to me.
Response: Thanks for the nice words! And it was pretty cool that we were actual "real" partners for this swap. hehe
Response: Oh wow! Your dad used to say it too. So must have made it extra special to you then. :-)
Response: You have me blushing. Especially with your wonderful message you sent me too. It definitely makes me want to continue making ATCs for artists, when an artist can respond with appreciation as you have. I will look forward to creating new art for you via ATCs when Swap-bot decides I can - hehe.
Response: Thank you for the nice comments. I have just started to learn to "see" something in my watercolor washes, and then add a small amount to make the vision come to life. For several years, I just wasn't able to "see" things. Suddenly it is finally happening for me. :-)
Response: So happy you thought so much of my artwork. It was a joy to make for you. I have never added a bee with the windblown flowers, but I feel like I will be doing it more often. All the ATCs I do are hand drawn/hand painted and if you do that too, I would definitely be interested in doing private swaps. I haven't been on swap-bot that long, so I don't know how to set one up. Sooooo ... I will let you do it - ha!
Response: Oh yay!!! I am glad I could give you something unique. As soon as I read "Interactive ATC" my brain immediately thought of a puzzle. I went online to see how others might have accomplished making one, but found nothing, so I just made up how to make one. I guess I am on to something - hehe
Response: Haha would't that be fun to paint together. But Germany is quite aways from Michigan - hehe. Thanks for loving what I send you. I am sure you will get more from me in the future.
Response: Awwwww thanks for all those accolades!!! It definitely was fun to do. Started out with a watercolor wash, then negative painted in the shape of Michigan.
Response: Oh good! Be Still has been a theme of our woman's group for several years now. Good thing to live by - when we can remember - ha!
Response: Awwwww thanks for the nice words. That is quite a dilemma to have. Maybe I will get your name again, and I can make you another dragon. hehe
Response: Glad you liked it so much. It definitely has sparkle and shine - hehe. I am definitely not a pink person, but I did love the color and shine together.
Response: My heart is flying high now from your love for the Magpie scratchboard. It was the perfect thing to do with all of their black and white drama. Hope to send something to you again some time.
Response: Thanks! I sure didn't think I could make that color combination work, but in the end it all came together. Glad you liked it tool
Response: You are very welcome. I think owls are incredible creatures. And fun to draw for sure.
Response: You are so very welcome. It sure was fun making it for you. Had to add a bit of "whimsy" - ha!
Response: Awwwwww - you are so kind! I had never even heard of Gelatos before, until an artist sent me an ATC and had used them a bit. So I just decided they sounded intriguing and I ordered some. Figuring out what to use them on and how to use them was an interesting challenge - but gave me a chance to experiment and play. I highly recommend you try them out. :-)
Response: Thank you. I have always loved the look of birch trees, so this gave me a chance to finally paint some. The technique lended itself to it very well.
Response: It was great fun making this ATC for you. So happy you liked it :-)
Response: You are so very welcome. So happy you loved it as much as I loved doing it. Peaceful and serene - just how we ought to strive to live our life. :-)
Response: Since you and I seem to be building a nice relationship, I kind of figured you would have that attitude about me sending the first ATC I made - without the cut out shape. Thanks for the friendship :-) I have never seen that movie or even heard of it. I might have to check it out. Update: I checked it out and duh - I am aware of that animated movie. hehe
Response: So pleased you enjoyed the feather scratchboard. I can't not pick up feathers will I walk around in nature. In fact, I picked up some today. I looked at your profile and you did a mighty fine job filling it in nicely :-)
Response: Oh this is a wonderful response. Truly I must have put a smile on your face - bonus! I certainly had fun playing with Gelatos and what I could make them do. Have a wonderful Valentines Day :-)
Response: I am very happy you liked the mushroom. It was almost magical the way the gelatos blended. I really did NOT expect that. Almost looks like it was painted with oil paint. This is a heads up that there will be another ATC swap being sent your way soon for the Paint Chip ATC. I am using NeoColor II on the paint chip. They are very similar to the Gelatos. Soooo once again you will be my "guinea pig" on that too. hehe. At least it doesn't seem like you aren't offended by that. :-)
Response: Thanks for the nice comment. And YES you should get them out and have a good play with them. You may have other things to use them on now. I love them for some ATCs, notecards, and envelopes.
Response: Woo-hoo that you loved it!!! I guess I need to make some more alcohol ink windblown flowers to send to other artists. Thanks for the wonderful comments.
Response: Very happy that you enjoyed everything I sent. Alcohol ink paintings are always a thrill to make, as I never know exactly how they will come out.
Response: Well that was fun to read! You even recognize me by the envelope :-) I think I might try other ways to do the transferring of images.
Response: Oh thanks for a wonderful response! I just can't get enough of doing animals in scratchboard. It's just like drawing with a pencil for me - but backwards - ha!
Response: So pleased that these ATCs have a home with you :-) Interesting that we were truly actual partners on this swap. What fun!
Response: So happy you liked it as much as I did. Sometimes, the simpler a piece of art is, the more it says. I suppose that is the "less is more" approach. Ha! And drawing the snow is one way to enjoy it - because I certainly don't like being in the cold. ;-)
Response: Glad you received the ATC. Hope you enjoyed it.
Response: You are very welcome! It gave me the chance to learn more about my new Gelatos :-)
Response: Awwwwwww you are so gracious! Makes my heart sing!!! I had so much fun making that skull scratchboard with the sparkly crown - since you said in your profile you liked such things. Now I will be hoping to get your name more often to send ATCs to - hehe.
Response: Thank you once again for the nice compliments. Artists inspiring artists - isn't that the greatest compliment?!
Response: Such kind words!!! Not sure I will do many collages, but it was fun once I MADE myself do it. hehe
Response: Thanks for the encouragement! I had NO idea how I could use the gelatos that I had just gotten. But then I started blending the colors I had just scribbled on the paper, and wala!!! Suddenly my world was opened.
Response: You are welcome! It was fun coming up with something I have never even considered doing before. Glad you liked it :-)
Response: My oh my! You have given me such a wonderful rave review. I will have to keep my head from swelling. I do enjoy making art and it's fun giving it away. But when another artist gives such good comments - it's extra special.
Response: Heather - it was a kind of puzzle getting every symbolism in that rabbit, and have the colors balance too. But it was a fun puzzle. So glad you were amazed by it. I kind of amazed myself to - hahaha! Never did anything like this before.
Response: Yay! I am soooo happy you love the ATC and I was able to open up a new world of art style to you. I love scratchboard because for me it's so similar to drawing with a pencil, just have to think backwards sometimes - lights and darks. Can get my mind twisted sometimes - ha!
Response: I did hand draw both the Panda and the notecard. Such a compliment to think it was printed. Funny story - a couple days ago I showed one of my daughters the notecards I had just made and she immediately said "You drew these?! They look printed!" So you and here made my day. I have started making them using Gelatos that I had recently gotten and started experimenting with. I love the soft creaminess of them and the way they blend together.
Response: So glad you were happy with them. I had fun experimenting and did a bunch of washes on two different papers and different combination of colors. It's a good thing I wrote down what I did - I would NEVER remember. Yours was done on a paper that a friend gave me and we don't know the brand of it - wish we did - so I could share the name of it. It's sooooo great though. I used it for the notecard I made for you too (that I wrote the note for you) and I used Gelatos on that notecard - as just an extra piece of art for you. The watercolors I used are Daniel Smith: Jadeite, Mayan, Cascade, Quin Gold along with granulation fluid. And also Moss Green Brusho. Message me if you want more info :-)
Response: Pleased you liked the artwork again. I sure enjoy scratchboard and alcohol ink.
Response: Thanks!!!! So glad you like my art :-)
Response: Thanks Grace - it was Sure fun to be silly and serious all at the same time ;-)
Response: I figured you would find the heart :-). So glad you enjoyed the extra artwork on the notecard and envelope.
Response: Thank you for the very kind words. Makes me happy that you really like my artwork. It was fun to create two completely different styles. And I am shocked that it got to Germany in just 6 days!
Response: It was a complicated thing to think about how to do it. I got better with it once I realized I could use a cotton ball - ha!
Response: And lucky me to have such an appreciative partner. Thanks for the kind words - it means a lot :-) It gives me joy to put as much into an ATC, the notecard and envelope, as I can.
Response: Thank you for the comments. It was so fun to make something completely different, and explore.
Response: Thanks for the rating and letting me know you received the ATC.
Response: You are very welcome! "Out of they world" that's a great description - ha! So happy you like it :-)
Response: WOW!!! That's a HUGE compliment!! Especially since you've been doing this a long time :-) I have never painted on top of a sheet of music before, or anything like that. So that was fun!
Response: Love that response! Well it's a good thing you like my artwork, because in January you will be getting another one from me :-) hehe
Response: You are generous with your words - and I thank you. The "big cats" have always attracted me to draw them. Even though the Ocelot is so little, it's still considered a big cat. I think it would be fun to do each of them in scratchboard. Hmmmmm --- maybe a new year project :-)
Response: You have a way with words! I love reading how you describe what you like. I get excited when I get assigned to you, because of that. hehe
Response: Oh good! I am so glad it did arrive and you loved it. Green is my favorite color and so I was happy when I read that you love green too. Have a productive new year. :-)
Response: You are very welcome! It was fun gathering the leaves for you - just wish they still had the beautiful fall colors in them.
Response: Thanks! It was fun making all different kinds of ornaments. I suppose that time is done now though. Wishing you a very pleasant New Year.
Response: Good to know you received the ATC. Hope you liked it :-) I had never made anything 3 dimensional before.
Response: Wasn't it sooooo strange that I was assigned you for both of the "Cleanout" swaps?! Glad you loved what I sent to you :-)
Response: Happy you liked the ATCs. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Response: So pleased you enjoyed the ATC and card 😀. I haven't heard the rendition by Josh Groban. I will have to seek it out. I just love his voice!
Response: I seem to do a lot of artwork with black backgrounds. It's so dynamic. Have a blessed Christmas too 😀
Response: Ahhhhhh thanks for the nice compliments. So happy you like my artwork. It's so satisfying to create - anything - ha! Have a Merry Christmas :-)
Response: Glad you like the bookmark. It should be very durable - ha! Oh good - I am glad you will try Jodi Picoult! Have a Merry Christmas.
Response: Time teaching the little ones creative things, is time very well spent. I was just asked to teach another family members child some art lessons. I am glad you enjoyed the ornament ATCs :-)
Response: Happy smiles!!! And a Merry Christmas to you too.
Response: Hey Joanne - Yes I did hand draw the G-clef on the scratchboard ATC. You put a feather in my cap by saying you couldn't tell - hehe. I believe I did something similar on an envelope that I sent you another ATC in. Have a wonderful Christmas!!!
Response: Hahaha! I was hoping he would show movement. Guess it worked. Thanks for the nice vote of confidence.
Response: Thanks for the nice compliment. I am pleased you liked the fun winter scratchboard tree :-)
Response: Wellllll it's a good thing you are enjoying scratchboard - because you will be getting two more that have been on their way to you :-) The UK postal service is amazingly slow. Soooo said for you.
Response: I am sooooo happy you appreciate the artwork and will cherish it year after year. This means a lot to me :-)
Response: You are so kind with your words. "Treasure" - that's pretty special to know you feel this way :-) "Windblown" - yes because I use air to move the alcohol ink - mostly from a large bulb or a wireless airbrush. Straws work too in certain circumstances. Also, because they look like the wind is blowing them. I will look forward to receiving an ATC from you when the algorithm gods allow it - ha! :-)
Response: You are very welcome. Pleased that you are pleased :-)
Response: You are very welcome! I am happy you liked the feather art :-)
Response: Thanks for the wonderful comments. So happy you liked my artwork. I sure have fun creating it. Thanks for asking me to participate in doing something larger, but I would rather stick with ATCs as I have a binder that I put them all in. I did checkout your insta account and my my you do some very nice work. I especially like the ones that you do a series, with the same consistent color, like the blue ones where there is a white rabbit on several of them. Keep up the good work :-)
Response: Thanks for the good words. It was sure fun making it "wonky". Merry Christmas!
Response: It sounds like I did the right things - hahaha! This is the first time ever making my own Christmas card and envelope. I was surprised at how much white just jumps off that burgundy paper. I will definitely be doing that again! Thanks for the generous compliments :-)
Response: Ohhhhh the ATC and notecard and envelope will be a wonderful backdrop for your fairies. Your words make me blush - thanks for being so kind.
Response: I had fun being silly on the envelop and notecard - hehe. Glad you enjoyed it and the maple leaves. I just love doing negative painting.
Response: You are so very welcome. Having an ornament in the snow and being sent to Hawaii - I hope it doesn't melt - hehe! Merry Christmas to you as well.
Response: You are so very welcome. Not sure if you have wolves in Korea - hmmmm?
Response: It is SHOCKING that you live right here in Muskegon too! We definitely have to make plans to meet up and visit. And I'm glad you enjoyed the fun things I made for you. Hoped your children would get a kick out of the envelope.
Response: Oh thank you so much for the good words. So glad you liked it. I have begun to make the actual ornaments for my family, with the mandala dots on them. Having LOTS of fun with it!
Response: I tried using colors that you said you liked - mostly - ha! Glad you like my fun and crazy design.
Response: So glad you like the Mockingbird I drew for you. Do you have Mockingbirds in UK? I just love their song!
Response: Ohhhh so glad you liked it all. "Michigan girls" :-)
Response: It was fun creating it for you. Maybe I "inspired" you to pay closer attention to all those details going forward :-)
Response: The Grizzly Bear was so much more fun for me to create than a lantern, which is what first came to mind - ha! It was soooo much fun making my own faux washi tape - thanks to you!! I plan to do some more too, using metallic alcohol inks. Wish me luck.
Response: You are most welcome! Maybe next time I will be on the receiving of something from Singapore - that would be special.
Response: Nice play on words!!! I am so pleased you liked my creative way to achieve texture. :-)
Response: Oh that's sweet of you to get excited by just seeing the envelope. Secretly, I hope for that response - shhhhh - don't tell anybody. hehe
Response: I did have fun coming up with a fun way to have the whole ATC be the bird from the stamp. So happy you find them so special :-)
Response: Thats for the nice compliments. And I'm very happy you liked my unique still life. Just couldn't make myself do a normal kind of still life - ha!
Response: You are very welcome. Anytime I can use scratchboard to do some kind of animal, it's a delight for me to do. I am glad this swap gave me the opportunity.
Response: I gosh that's makes my heart sing to know of your history with sassafras's too!!! And being a fellow Michiganer - yay!
Response: I so happy you appreciated them. And with your love of music, it's probably wonderful to hear stories of how songs impact people.
Response: It made it extra special to use Washi Tape for the first time - being something I made myself. I got the idea from chickaree when she sent me some she had made and explained in detail the tips of how to do it. So helpful.
Response: You are so very welcome. I guess with the Christmas swaps starting to come in, my mind was waffling between Halloween and winter. Hence the "Snow-kin" (my own made up word - haha!) My husband thought it was silly and not to use it, so I used it anyway :-). I also thought about "Jack-O-Snow". hehe
Response: I am so glad you loved the artwork. I thought it would be a difficult thing to do all the feathers of the birds, but it was relatively easy. So that has encouraged me to do other birds - hopefully not having to tie into the stamp though - ha! Thanks for the kind words!
Response: Thanks for the nice comment. I am finding that I like doing negative painting. It is freeing somehow.
Response: Glad you liked it! I tried to be sure and make it personal with some of the things you like and of course your initial.
Response: You are very welcome! Big cats are my favorite animal and it was great having an opportunity to do a scratchboard drawing for you. Thanks for such a wonderful response :-)
Response: Awwwww thanks! So glad you liked my creative approach to this ATC. Now I want to make more that are similar, like I actually do on real Christmas ornament.
Response: Ohhhh so glad you liked it. I tried to come up with a creative way to show a skelton.
Response: You are very welcome :-) Anytime I find the perfect opportunity to do scratchboard, I jump on it. And this one just screamed "scratchboard black cat". So glad you enjoyed it.
Response: Happy you enjoy all 3 of the ATCs. It was interesting to do them all different and to make them to match your profile likes.
Response: Awwwww you've made me so happy that you loved everything so much. And I wanted to give you the rich deep reds you love.
Response: Alcohol Ink is so much fun and I am pleased you liked all the things I created for you. The Whimsical mushrooms are a new "thing" for me :-)
Response: When I read you like butterflies, I knew what I needed to add to the spiderweb. Who wants a spider on there - yuck! Ha!
Response: So happy you found the scratch board ghost unique and fun.
Response: It's so nice when someone says good things about your work - thank you so much! It was fun doing negative painting to create the fall items on the forest floor. It always amazes me how little it takes to makes something appear.
Response: Thank you for your kind words. It was fun creating something so unique.
Response: You are so sweet with your comments. :-) I’m happy you enjoyed the gentle subtlety of the ATC as much as I did.
Response: Thanks for the fun response!! I've been waiting to see how long it took to get to the UK from Michigan - 5 weeks! Good to know for the future too. Loving doing ATCs. Hope I am lucky enough to get something from you someday.
Response: Awwww - I am in your treasure box - yay!! It was fun drawing the extra notecard for you, since you seem to love music so much. And the Sonata No.3 on the envelope :-) Funny side note - the person I received an ATC from - her favorite food also was potato!!! What are the chances of that. Ha!
Response: I had fun creating it and darkening each color as the squares went outward. Glad you loved it :-)
Response: So glad you and Grayson loved your ATCs. The flower was actually created with alcohol ink, not watercolor. Alcohol ink is such a fun product to use, as it does some unexpected things and can get very dynamic.
Response: Thanks! I thought scratchboard lended well to this one. But a few days ago I realized I forgot to add my favorite and important part - the whiskers. Duh! Shhhhh don’t tell anyone. Ha!
Response: That is really remarkable! So your style and mine must be very similar. Cool!
Response: I hope it brings you "JOY" and freedom, as butterflies seem to have as they flit around :-)
Response: Hahaha!!! Two ATCs from me two days in a row. I am glad you were excited and very pleased with my artwork. Perhaps I will be assigned your name again in the future :-)
Response: You are so very welcome. And thank you for the nice words :-) The alcohol ink is something fairly new for me and I am addicted to it - ha! Especially on black paper, it gives such a dynamic look.
Response: So so happy you liked it as much as I liked doing it. Thanks you for sure a marvelous review!! This was one of the funnest ATCs I did - probably because I love painting and drawing animals and I got to draw fur - ha!
Response: Thank you for the nice compliments.
Response: Alcohol Inks are so much fun!!! I watched a bunch of videos before I tried them, and then I got addicted to them. Such a completely different medium.
Response: I know, right?! Crazy that I got to send you two ATCs for two different swaps at the same time. I am thrilled that you love them both so much.
Response: You are so very welcome!
Response: So glad you love what I sent you. I surprised myself at how much that leaves on the envelope just popped out so much.
Response: The alcohol inks can give a brilliant color - just like Fall can be. The notecards I recently started making to send with the ATCs. I call them my "Whimsical Watercolor" style. Playful.
Response: I do a lot of nature journaling and I wanted to bring a bit of that feel into the Lady Bug ATC. So glad you love it :-)
Response: Thanks for such a great comment. And I wanted to make the lace more yellow, as I know you like yellow, but I was afraid it wouldn't show up on the white paper very well. I am happy you enjoyed both pieces of art :-)
Response: You are so very welcome!!! I thought the color combination turned out special.
Response: It's a good quote to remember during the busyness of life these days. Happy you enjoyed it.
Response: It pleases me to know how much you liked the artwork. I absolutely love finding extra ways to add more artwork to the ATC "package/envelope". Just that much more opportunity to create freely.
Response: Awwwww - I am grateful and humbled by your wonderful comments. I think when two people have a love for the same thing - birds, in this instance - the appreciate for the art increases expotentially. It was so much fun painting the card for you. Maybe someday I will be so lucky as to get one of your cards created for me :-)
Response: Oh good! I am learning more from receiving ATCs from other artists, how I can make what I send even better. Like I am now inserting hand painted notecards too.
