EDITED October 7. 2024 We re very lucky. We had our power restored last week and we're able to return home after just 6 days. Our area has a long road to recovery, but we are personally doing well. I contacted and kept Mt swap partners up to date with the status of their swaps. have sent out all the swaps that were due during the time we were out of state.
Edited Sept. 28, 2024 We are without power from Hurricane Helene. We Do not have any estimates about when we will get it back. If my swap is late, I hope you can forgive me since there's seriously nothing I can do about it. Will try to get out what I can when I can. Right now we are just trying to figure out how to eat.
I am sure everyone is aware of the current state of the postal service and the world in general. Postal workers are doing their best to keep up with the massive influx of mail that's being sent on a daily basis. I know I have sent more mail in the last 2 years than probably the entire last decade. That said, I send my swaps on time. Once it is out of my hands, I cannot do anything about how fast or slow it gets somewhere. I get things without postmarks all the time. I have noticed that my mailgets routed to a different hub to get postmarked, which sometimes doesn't happpen for more than 24 hours. I take that into consideration when I rate people, and I hope you are doing the same. I try to rate same day that I get a swap. I will message you if I haven't received a swap from you within 3 weeks. I ask you do the same.
Married mom of a 10 year old with ASD and epilepsy. I volunteer for several organizations in my community that deal with issues that I am passionate about (kids, military families, voting). I am a Feminist, anti-racist, believe that no one should go hungry (especially kids), quality education is a right, affordable healthcare is essential, and I am not interested in discussing religion or politics if your views are not aligned with my own.
I love getting and sending mail. I send a lot of mail, but I am also open to new penpals/correspondence.
I am artsy, love to thrift, reading (mostly contemporary fiction, YA, middle grade, classics-- not into horror, gore), love Harry Potter (Slytherclaw), Hello Kitty, washi tape, stickers, 80s/90s/00s teen movies, decals, pens, stationary (note cards, postcards, letter sets), miniature things, pens (especially 0.3 and 0.4), postcards...
Purple is my favorite color. Love jewel tones and metallic colors as well. I don't really like pastels or neon colors. Glitter is not cool unless it is very contained or stuck down. I am very drawn to patterns.
Halloween is my favorite. No, seriously, I LOVE Halloween.
Love tea (white. green, black, citrus, spiced, herbal, fruit etc). No mint or mixed berry (see allergies and sensitivities). Don't drink coffee.
It's rarely a good idea to send chocolate to GA, because it is rarely cool enough that it won't melt. I enjoy citrus scents and flavors.
If it is something that you wouldn't want to receive, don't send it to someone else. I am thankful for anything I get, but if it's not something that is my taste, I will probably regift it.
One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez;
Commonwealth by Ann Patchett;
The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman;
High Fidelity by Nick Hornby
I read a lot of kids books with my son. We have really enjoyed Last Kids on Earth, the Superfudge books, Goosebumps, and the Wayside School series.
ATCs; Mail art; Upcycling; Vinyl decals; t-shirt design; key chains; creating sticker sheets; bookmarks; home decor; Zines
I suffer from migraines, and scent is a big trigger for me. Cigarette smoke, incense, chemical smelling candles, dryer sheets (scents not made naturally), Juicy Fruit and pink bubblegum.
I am allergic to cats, raspberries, and blackberries. If it says mixed berries, it is probably a no go.
Enamel pins; Hello Kitty; Craft supplies; Stickers; Squished Pennies; Postcards, Squishmallows
Vintage/ art decco/ mid century modern;
Cutesy (cartoony foods, animals, puns);
Bold, rich colors (jewel tones, metallic);
Witchy (crystals, tarot, velvet, galaxy, not green faced ladies with warty noses)
Stickers (not into emojis, smiley faces, kiddy stickers, reward or teacher stickers)

Halloween is basically my Christmas. I love most things Halloween, but I am not into modern horror movies, really gross stuff (blood, gore, animal sacrifice, etc), or mean spirited things.
My Halloween aesthetic is vintage, pastel goth, witchy vibes, meets twee, cutesy (think illustrations of animals dressed in costumes).
I love Dia de los Muertos, but I am not Hispanic. I think the celebration is beautiful. I donβt want or give sugar skulls, catrinas, etc, because it is not my culture
Things you could send: washi, stickers, Halloween/witchy themed note cards, Halloween/witchy themed memo paper, Halloween/witchy stationery, Halloween squishmallows, Halloween/spooky accessories (scarves, hair pins, pins, scrunchies, hair wrap, etc-- ears aren't pierced and don't really wear jewelry), Halloween/spooky style masks (no accordian style please).
