Description:

A BIG thanks to zigg13pra for letting me do this swap.

For this swap we will take 25 envelopes (with or without cards) and put a (mainly flat) goodie inside!

Ideas are: Nice sheet of stickers, ATC's, bookmarks, patches, gift tags, tea, flat candies, a poem or recipe (nicely made, not just scribbled on paper) other flat or almost flat goodies. Things can be Christmas themed or not, but mixing it up is a great idea!

  • 25 envelopes total (NOT business envelopes,(4.5 x 9.5) they are crappy and are usually too small.)
  • Each envelope should be labeled with a number 1-25
  • Each envelope should be decorated a little with drawings or nice words or stickers.
  • These do not have to be white store bought envelopes, but can be envelopes you make (maybe out of scrapbook paper or Christmas paper?)
  • Make sure number 25 is something nice for them to open on Christmas!
  • Please check your partners profile to make sure you don't send anything unwanted. Sending items on their wish list is NOT required (but nothing dirty, used, smelly, smoky, covered in pet fur) Make this something you would want to receive!
  • No price on this as it will vary.

  • AUSTRALIA ONLY

  • 4.8 rating
  • No newbies, less than 5 rated swaps = newbie.
  • Aim for hearts (If your partner did a lot of effort they deserve a heart)

Just wondering about the envelope size; it says "NOT letter envelopes"...what size would you recommend? A business size or something larger? Also wondering about how you are meant to post this? All envelopes inside a post bag or post box?

Sorry about all the questions! I hope that all makes sense....i really shouldn't browse swap-bot at midnight!

To me, those envies would be the 'business letter' envelopes. They are short and very long and come in like 200 in a box. To me they are crappy! Envelopes that you put cards in and envies that come with stationary are (to me) a lot nicer :D Hope that helped. :D

Note card size envie which is a little bigger than 4x6.

Since its just in oz I was just going to put them in a big envie or a padded bag so they dont get damaged.

Thanks zigg13pra and LovRasp for the advice. I am looking forward to this one!

I was thinking of using the box that some envelopes come in, it's kinda half a box so the envelopes can be stored in them. That would make a nice display when decorated.

Smart thinking =)

This is such a lovely idea, i can't wait to get started! :D

I've been looking around getting ideas too. Of course i will try and base as many as possible on my partners profile but i have some great Christmas related ideas. :D

Envelopes that cards come in are often the same size as business letter envelopes. Do you think they are too small? The envelopes that come with stationery are even smaller. It looks to me like ozrob would be using DL envelopes as well. Would that be right? I think maybe Australian business letter envelopes are a much better quality than US ones.

I've just picked up some bundles of red envelopes from my local newsagent, Hallmark brand, that have obviously been from Xmas cards. They are a good size, measuring 21cm x 14cm, and good quality. Only $1 for a bundle of 10. I think i will go back and get some more and make up two more of these sets for my children too. (i hate those commercial advent calendars with the inedible choc inside!!)

I'm using C6 size envelopes - 114mm x 162mm

smokeandmirrors 10/21/2008 #

I have a mix of envelopes with all different colours, designs and sizes........is that ok? The sizes will of course depend on what gift is going inside each day.

I'm using C6 size envies as well, ozrob. They seem to be the right size - LovRasp said just bigger than 4x6, and I can fit a 4x6 memo inside :)
