  • Ribbon (3 yards or more)
  • Buttons - either 1 large, 2 medium or 3 small
  • One Profile Surprise Item (does not need to be sewing related)

Please be creative - take a look at your partner's profile to see what she likes/dislikes. Does she like polka dots?stripes?floral?certain patterns?etc?

The Profile Surprise item can be something handmade, a pin cushion, or something you buy or have in your stash, like a bookmark, notecards, embellishments, scrapbooking supplies, socks, etc. The profile surprise item does not need to be sewing related.

I decorate my home at Christmas with a Red & White theme! So I would love to receive things in those colours!! Thanks! :)

SweetClementine 10/ 5/2010 #

I'm in the mood for jadeite green, red, and cream (like 1930s vintage coloring). My second choice would be blue, white, and silver this year.

I LOVE polka dots. I usually have lots of bird ornaments on my tree. I like snowflakes, stars, and 1930s/vintage style things. These are just some ideas for inspiration, though!

Moineau 10/ 5/2010 #

I am into blue and golden for Xmas, but red is fine as well. I love snow flakes and Xmas trees, or anything that looks Scandinavian, not a huge fan of Rudolph or whimsical Xmas themes, though.

I'm colllecting retro 50s christmas fabrics -- so lime green, bright red, the brighter and wilder the better. :D

Cakers 10/ 6/2010 #

I'd love something in a silver/gold combination or silver/blue/white combination.

Please, no children or novelty prints as I have a stash of those already.

Thanks so much!

We usually have two different things going on at Christmas mostly cuz as the one who does the decorating my split personality shines thru...one is modern with cherry red and bright white and the other is more vintage with cream & deep reds and greens. I also have a ton of novelty prints (they make up one whole plastic tub) but if you find something you just know I'm gonna love, then send it! However, I don't have kids and actually have none in my life that I sew for so please do not send any kid prints. Thanks!

I love all blues, silvers, whites, black.

Any pattern goes, but I prefer smaller prints as I make a lot of small items. Thx!

My favorite Christmas colors are Christmas red, green, and silver. I love fabrics with polka dots or kid themed, I sew for my 2 granddaughters 1 and 2 yrs old. So I do love anything to sew for them. I love Santas, and angels.

We decorate in a very .....ahem...eclectic way! :-) So anything goes. I do decorate our school in all Gingerbread people so if my partner wants to go along those lines that is great but really I am fine with anything.

staceyb 10/20/2010 #

We usually decorate in red and white or blue and white. I'm not into the red/green/gold combo. I also like smaller prints if possible. Not going to be very picky, this is my first swap in the group. :)

scarlett1110 10/22/2010 #

I love snowmen and I also have 3 little boys so kids themed Christmas fabric is great, too. I'm not particular about colors. This is also my 1st swap in the group.

whiteway 10/23/2010 #

Welcome @staceyb and @scarlett1110 I am happy you chose this swap as your first "Nuts for Sewing" Group swap! Its always a lot of fun! :)

FrogsAndFairies 10/23/2010 #

I'm into bright colored christmas decorations. I love whimsical and funny figures/ornaments in bright colors. I don't like classic red/green/gold/white christmas decorations.

sbuck 10/25/2010 #

I am easy. I just like Christmas. I am a kid at heart so everything sparkles to me. Just surprise me. This is my first swap with this group. It seems like fun.

clkea 10/26/2010 #

I love anything Christmas! Any color will do. I love polka dots but any pattern is good. The only print I don't need is kid themed.

beancounter17 10/29/2010 #

No kids/novelty fabric please. I love the traditional colors - dark green, deep red and cream. One tree is decorated with all handmade quilted/x-stitch/felted/knit/etc ornaments and a garland of small wooden spools - i guess that would be classified as country. Thanks and happy Christmas!

nanthom 10/30/2010 #

I don't need any floss so thread would be great. I love fabric that sparkles but any holiday fabric would be awesome! Thanks!

FloatingQueen 10/31/2010 #

Well, I love everything Christmas & have a few different themes going on through out the house. I do like a deep red, greens & silver. I like snowmen, Angels & Birds. I like Glitter...fabric that sparkles too. Thank you !!

InsanePenguins 10/31/2010 #

I am currently in to penguins (go figure). Anything in any color would be great. Thread would be best. I have way too much floss of every kind. Thanks.

whiteway 11/ 2/2010 #

Partners are assigned!!! Don't forget to write here what your preferred colour scheme would be!!

And have fun! :)

Sunflower4Mowse 11/ 2/2010 #

I like to decorate in a deep burgundy and hunter green with antique white/ecru lace - kind of Victorian. I collect cute whumsical reindeers as my main theme for decorating this time of year. Thank you

YvonneCrea 11/ 4/2010 #

This Christmas we all Scandinavian atmosphere, so white, beige and red. Thank you.

Nicc79 11/24/2010 #

Whiteway: Does the Profile suprised have to be christmasy? or can it be something they would like in colours from there profile?

whiteway 11/26/2010 #

@Nicc79 - I'd say the profile surprise does not need to be Christmasy - but if you find something in your partner's colour scheme that is Christmasy - then that's even better! :)

katiewoo 11/27/2010 #

Whooops! I've been so caught up with life that swapbot has suffered! LOL! My choice of colours for Christmas would be red (of course) - that bright cherry red, and aqua (not pale but bright!). oooh, soooo nice! Thanks to my partner in advance!
