Scavenger Hunt Journal

For this swap you will need a journal or note book of some kind with sturdy paper. At least 50 pages. Something you will be able to turn the pages into pockets as needed. To make the pocket pages you can simply cut one page in half and glue or tape 3 sides to a second page and have a pocket . You can also use paper clips as needed. Now the reason for these pockets will be to have some place to store the items you are going to be hunting for. These things are going to be small and mostly flat items. These treasures that you will be finding or will be something you already have in your art stash. This swap should cost you only for the journal and postage. You will have one item to find daily. Also you will have to write a bit about where you found your item and why you picked it. You will have 1 partner for this swap. Feel free to add any extras you want to with your items. We all love extras : ) also please decorate the journal a little. Make it pretty for your partner.

You will have all of October to work on this journal. so have fun with it.

The first page of the journal should be a short bio page. Number and label the pages. No need to follow the list in the order I have it BUT you must have all items on the list in it.

Day 1 - 10 different stickers
Day 2 - some feathers
Day 3 - 2 things that are red
Day 4 - print out pictures of 4 different rainbow sightings
Day 5 - 8 different 6 by 6 inch pieces of printed paper
Day 6 - list of 10 different things that happened on the day you were born
Day 7 - list of 4 different things you didn't know about owls
Day 8 - print out 6 different pictures of things you find freaky weird the people do
Day 9 - 6 different stamped images of moon, stars, suns
Day 10 something in the color of brown
Day 11 - 7 adult only jokes
Day 12 - something with a dragon on it
Day 13 - 5 different newspaper stories about things happening in your area
Day 14 - 3 menu's from places you order food from or dine at
Day 15 - 2 book markers
Day 16 - 4 different pieces of ribbon at least 6 inches or longer
Day 17 - a map of a place you want to visit or have visited
Day 18 - 3 things in black
Day 19 - picture of something your scary for Halloween
Day 20 - something you find strange
Day 21 - 5 postcards
Day 22 - something green
Day 23 - something flat and round
Day 24 - something with orange in it
Day 25 - 5 different leaves
Day 26 - a dried flowers
Day 27 - something with angels on it
Day 28 - 4 things that are purple
Day 29 - something blue and silver
Day 30 - list 10 trivia items
Day 31 - surprise me

Hi, On the ones where you need to print out pictures, can these be pictures we have found in a magazine or book also? I don't have access to a printer. Also, could I make this as an envelope journal, rather than making pockets in a journal? I think that would be fun.

Yes these can be pictures you found in a book or magazine. And sure you can make a envelope journal.

So scared to be flakes on :// but I will join in hopes I get a good journal in return as I will be sending out. Great idea I just hope all who join keep their word. Even get confirmation on sending so you have proof just a little piece of advice :)) my last 2 BIG swaps I got one really late and the other flaked :// . But I will have so much fun doing this :)

I'm a little nervous because I can't do at least one of the prompts... I don't have moon, stars, and sun stamps. If it's ok with my partner, can I do outline print-outs?

print out images will be fine but they must be black and white only!!! That way at least they are like stamped images : )

I am a little hesitant too, as I have been flaked on the last two journal swaps and then had a partner I sent to out of the country both times, cost me some bucks. Going to try one last time and hope for the best.

As this is international, things like leaves and flowers cant be sent.. Would pics be ok for that bit, or do you have another suggestion?

of course can be send. I already send leaves to Romenia. And was just inside the envelope. Now will gonna be inside a envelope inside a book. Just don't send drug leaves.

Wingy it doesn't have to be major things that happened. Example name a famous person born the same day. Or something from the news that day

I love this idea, wish I would have seen it in time to sign up! Just a note on the sending leaves and such out of the country it is illegal because of bugs and such that can travel on real leaves. I would avoid it so you don't cause harm to the environment. Especially with things like ash trees...
