I'm a happy, creative, semi grown-up girl living with my boyfriend and our two birds in Boston. I prefer comfortable silences to idle chit-chat, warm dim light to bright, and a firm bed with super soft pillows. I'm responsible enough to have a high credit score but still childish enough to hang said score on the fridge with a cute ladybug magnet. I dance (lindy hop) three times a week, but I'll huff about having to carry the laundry downstairs.
The boyfriend says I'm exciting, but I'm pretty sure I'm just weird.
There are ATCs, random bits of art and pictures of swaps in my blog. If you like surprises, please don't peek at those links!
Γ’β’Β₯ Colors: dusty, muted, slightly off shades of almost any color, bright, garish color combinations from the 60's and 70's, and colors in spectral (rainbow) order.
Γ’β’Β₯ Visuals: tiny flowers, goldfish, insects, vintage patterns, leaves, trees, tabby cats, polka-dots, rainbows, the woods, the ocean, praying mantids, budgies, snails, anything to do with spring and summer, vintage erotic images, bohemian, asian, clouds, birds, turtles, fat little animals, planets and space, kawaii, and anything dainty and feminine.
Γ’β’Β₯ Real Ephemera: old book pages, pretty tags from clothing, ticket stubs, vintage prayer cards, old greeting cards, used postcards, bits of odd advertisements, a newspaper page that's not in english, old black and white photos, string from packages, tags from tea bags, fortune cookie slips, labels and packaging from odd foods, vintage wrapping paper, maps, paper flowers, pages from old ledgers, sea shells, and found scraps of paper.
Γ’β’Β₯ Odds and Ends: stories, artist trading cards, postcards, handmade items, zippered pouches, feminine socks, PDF or word copies of ebooks, reusable tea bags, pretty hair clips and barrettes, infinity scarves, tiny lace, foreign coins, miniatures, costume jewelry (plastic, glass) or natural jewelry (hemp, silver, leather, wood, glass beads), vintage erotica, anything having to do with buddhism.
Γ’β’Β₯ Thrift: gaudy glass and plastic jewelry, silver rings sizes six through nine, simple silver earrings, tiny trinket bowls, teaspoons, gaudy and colorful vintage stationary (postcards and such), tiny bottles (especially fish shaped ones), compact mirrors, old marbles (even just one or two will make my day) old books of mathematical tables and old ledgers, small wallets (leather, plastic, or fabric).
Γ’β’Β₯ Edibles: dried fruit, all kinds of tea (green or herbals are my favorites), herbs and spices, honey, dark chocolate, and nuts.
Γ’β’Β₯ Surprises! Please don't be afraid to send me something that is not in the lists above. When in doubt, I prefer natural (cotton, stone, wood, metal) rather than plastic, mellow colors rather than bright, and useful items over frivolity (unless it's a fantastically awesome and frivolous thing).
I am allergic to gold jewelry and most mainstream body lotions, perfumes, and make-up. I also don't eat many sugary things.
Please don't send items that feature negativity, cynicism, bathroom humor, items that are heavily scented, art that was quickly or poorly made, random scrapbook paper, or manufactured ephemera.
Finally, unless I'm in a swap specifically for it or we discuss it first, please don't send clothing. I love, love, LOVE second hand clothing, but I'm rather hard to shop for as I'm losing weight.
