Hi. My name is Joni, but my friends call me Jonez. I'm aspiring... always aspiring. I am a 37 year old Office Manager and post graduate school student who decided to go back to school and get a degree to teach psychology online. I feel as though I am an amazing underachiever due to a fear of success. I am a quick witted sarcastic She-Geek who suffers bouts of ecclesiastical excitement over some of the dumbest things; which makes me lotsa fun. I attend comic book, sci-fi and various geek conventions when I have the chance. I love tabletop gaming. I am obsessed with the game Fiasco and currently co-host a gaming night. I live with my boyfriend and I am raising my niece (whom I refer to as "the kid") in a state known for its cold weather and traffic cones.
I hope to one day travel to Paris.
I love Audry Hepburn as much as I adore Courtney Love, so that should say something about my personality.
I am a lover of all things Kawaii. I believe you are never to old to love cutesy things, rainbows and unicorns.
I love pretty much all things San-X, Sanrio and Q-Lia. I especially love Piggy Girl, Rilakkuma (Kiiroitori being my fav), Mamegoma, Hello Kitty, Kuromi (my fav Sanrio character), Tarepanda, Kutusita Nyanko, Jewel Cat, Cinamoroll, Chapeau from Sentimental Circus, Toromi, Little Twin Stars and Nattu from Chocopa. My boyfriend is a big fan of Nattu as well. He reminds me of what my boyfriend would look like...if here were a squirrel. X-D
I love to cook, though I am not much of a baker. My specialty is Mexican Food, but I love to cook just about anything (within reason and my familyΓ’β¬β’s budget).
I read a lot and love books. I love everything about them. Not just reading them but the smell of them, the cracks in the leather and the yellow of the pages. I especially love the smell of musty old Library books. It is probably from those years I worked as a library clerk (-: I tend to gravitate towards classic fiction, YA fiction, and biographies of movie and rock stars.
I am a pop culture junkie.
Most of the TV Shows and Music I love stems from the 80's and 90's. I loved Degrassi Junior High (Circa 80's only), Saved By The Bell, Double Trouble, Dawsons Creek, Party of Five, The Wonder Years, Skins (the original), BH 90210 (the original), The Young Ones, Almost all the Back To School Specials, My So Called Life, Avonlea, Felicity, The Monkees and Freaks and Geeks. My guilty pleasures are reality TV shows like Prjoect Runway, The Rachel Zoe Project, Kel on Earth, The Hills, Laguna Beach, The Real World, True Life, Sister Wives and Fangasm.
I tend to gravitate towards Indie Music and Indie Films. I listen to a lot of Indie Alternative, Indie Folk Rock, Rock, Pop, Electronic, Dubstep and 80's New Wave.
I like anime, but not ALL anime. I am in no way a uber fan of cosplay levels, though I admire those that are. I like Sailor Moon (non US version of course), Pani Poni Dash, Trinity Blood, Maria-sama ga Miteru, Deathnote and Ranma 1/2. I didn't have the patience to continue on with the Bleach series, though it was good.
I am very much into fashion and cosmetics and I have quite the handbag collection. I have had to trim down as of late so my boyfriend will have enough room in the closet for his clothes (-:.
One day my love and obsession for Piggy Girl and Wil Wheaton will boarder on unhealthy.
I do nifty things with polymer clay, paper clay, cold porcelain, Resin, Podgeables, Decoden, and paints and canvas. I mainly create kawaii sweets charms and girly trinkets for jewelry, phone straps/plugs, and keychains. I will be opening an Etsy store soon with the kid to hock our collective creativity.
My mini canvas creations often incorporate paint and other three dimensional items (mixed media art). If I can add something to canvas in a way that looks cool, I will try. Mostly I just paint and sketch to work out my demons.
I am interested in pen-pals, kawaii swaps (crafts, stickers, memo pads/pages, pencils, pens, squishies), craft swaps, and recipe swaps. I will swap friendship books. I tend to like kawaii items the best, but I am open to many things. MESSAGE ME FOR PRIVATE SWAPS!
I am not into animal items unless they are kawaii (not much of a collector of things kitty, horsey, dolphin, or puppy). I donΓ’β¬β’t want to get heavy into post-card swaps, but I will participate a little and send or receive the occasional one. I don't do tea or coffee swaps. I am not a big "Disney" fan with the exception of Minnie Mouse and Ariel (and I only collect those two items to make the kid happy). I love seeing what other people do and will gratefully accept crafts. I will also swap crafting materials like clay, findings, molds, canes, cabochons or stickers for resin crafts. I am just looking forward to meeting and sharing with new people (-:
I am new here, but I do put effort into the swaps I send out and usually send extras. I try and send out packages that I would like to receive. I rate fairly. If you send the package out by the swap date and send what was required I will rate a 5, however I save my hearts for the swaps I favor.
I want to preface this by saying I understand that people are not made of money. I know my family and I are on a budget, so I don't expect anything fancy. I also realize this is a forum to meet people and share crafts and ideas. No one on here is playing the part of Santa, including me. What I appreciate most is anything that says something about you. Your art, your craft, maybe a sheet of your favorite stationary, or small items to assist me with my crafting. Here is a good list of ideas.

Thanks for your response letter. I really enjoyed it. I am doing my swaps now in fact. I hope you have a great Winter.

Trash bombs are great. Even though I've been sending/receiving them since the age of 12 - I can't take credit for that name. I picked up on the phrase via sendsomething.net where a few of us love sending em out!
Welcome!
