I'm an American English teacher living in South Korea. My math professor husband dragged me here. I have several international penpals. My hobbies include reading, baking, cooking, playing board games, writing letters and cross stitching. I'm kinda a geek.
I like all kinds of music. My favorites are usually singer songwriters like Sarah McLachlan, John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw, Fiona Apple, Damien Rice and Howie Day. The bands I love are Counting Crows, Dave Matthews, Postal Service, Erasure and U2.
ahh... too many to choose from. I am an avid book reader and a self-proclaimed bookworm/book nerd. I have a Sony PRS and carry about 500 ebooks with me at all times. I usually read about 200 books a year. My favorites are science fiction, fantasy, romance, suspense/thrillers and mysteries. The books I loved the most are: Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card, Lamb - Christopher Moore, The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger and The Curious Incident of the Dog at Nighttime - Mark Haddon. The authors I love reading the most are: Lois McMaster Bujold, GRR Martin, Suzanne Brockmann, Patricia Briggs, Orson Scott Card, Juliet Marillier, Jacqueline Carey, David Eddings, David Gemmell, PJ Tracy, Judith McNaught, Mary Balogh, Elizabeth Moon, David Weber, Steve Miller/Sharon Lee and about 200 others.
I love movies as well, and I watch most everything except horror or dumb comedies. I love action flicks and romantic comedies. My favorites are: Strictly Ballroom, A Room with a View, Fifth Element, Star Wars, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Con Air, While You Were Sleeping
I don't watch television much in Korea since I can't get many American shows, but I've been catching some one line.
Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis, Criminal Minds (huge Dr. Reid fan), Bones, Alias, Star Trek (all of them), Alton Brown's cooking show, Project Runway
I cross stitch primarily. I have started to take pictures of my projects and put them up on FB, but sadly most of what I've made I've not recorded and they were gifts to others. I am currently working on a fantasy piece with a dragon and a castle. I wish I could knit.
I consider myself a lazy person, but I enjoy being outside sometimes and take bike trips or go hiking. I have done a metric 100 century (100km) several times and would like to work my way up to 100miles in one day sometime. Otherwise, I'm in a country where 70% of the land is mountainous and beautiful hiking. Most of the time, I prefer to stay in and curl up with a good book or experiment in the kitchen. I love cooking and baking, and I especially enjoy a challenge. I really like cooking for people with dietary restrictions because I like showing people that anyone can have amazing, delicious food.

Thank you very much!
I noticed your comment in the "stuff a sock swap" I would love to do a similar swap with you one on one if you want. I think it would be cool to get some neat stuff from Korea, and maybe I could send you stuff you miss from the US. Let me know if you are interested and I would be happy to set up a private swap. Happy Swapping!
