Hello, My name is Wanda. I am originally from ND and have lived in England, Germany, Sicily and now in SE Ohio in the Hocking Hills region. We have raised 3 children, have 3 granddaughters and 3 great granddaughters. Most of which we no longer see since they are scattered all over the country:( So the only kids we have now are 3 rescued papillons and 7 cats by default that have adopted us! I also work for rescue groups, with transport and spay/neuter clinics. Sometimes I assist the vet and sterilize equipment, while other times I am on the road transporting dogs across the state or taking them to another clinic or working on trapping ferals.
In between all of this, I do have a business machine quilting for others, but have finally scaled this down to part time after 15 years in leu of finally deciding that the animals are more needing at this point in my life.
I am a former high school art teacher and love any thing art related. I love to paint, draw, work with fibers, make dolls, ATC's, altered art, journals, jewelry, chunky books, print making, pottery, paper mache',quilt, crochet and just about everything else.
things I like are coffees, esp. K-Cups and willing to try variety of flavors. Carmel Vanilla Creme is my favorite. I love the ice coffees and lemon tea.
I also like rubber and acrylic stamps, mounted and unmounted. Abstract, things with curves, geometric, classical, vintage, Tim Holtz type, etc. are fun. I Just don't care for the cutesie ones.
I like carved erasers, and hand made stamping supplies, lino block, mono prints, things printed on gelli plates too. One of a kind stuff.
I also like Stencils, like artcellar type.
I love words and letters. Love them on fabric, on paper, stamps, stamps or what ever! Even phrases, or words of wisdom, fortune cookies too!
Fabric, Can a girl ever have enough? Of course not! Even if you pet it and put it on a shelf and never use, one can always appreciate it, rearrange it and then one day that ah ha moment strikes you for that certain project, you have that piece in your stash you got in a trade and you do the happy dance! Favorite fabrics would be with words, script, advertising, brights, or pastels and I love multi colored prints, geometrics, dots, swirls, paisley etc.
I like old broken jewelry, jewels or even steam punk looking like watch parts and such. Anything Tim Holtz.
I love buttons, especially if they are unusual, glass, or polymer clay type. Vintage ones are fun too!
micron pens any size especially black&browns, brads and washi tapes. Stencils and masks for journals. acrylic paints, brushes, and Schmetz sewing machine needles.
I collect things with the alphabet on like wooden blocks, printer's blocks, etc. Alphabet in other languages too! Chinese fortunes find their way into my art too.
I love fantasy, especially mermaids and faeries! Gypsy and fortune tellers, macabre and Halloween! Travis Louie's art is a scream!
I also would love if someone made me fingerless gloves or home made soaps.
MUSIC...I love classic rock and pop. I don't care for much country, alternative or rap. I like a good blues once in awhile, but Jazz isn't really my thing. I like new age music or something to relax with.
TV...I don't get the time to watch much. But things I like are Big Bang Theory, Cut Throat Kitchen, Practical Jokers, Snapped, CSI, etc. Mostly mystery, criminal shows and comedy.
I am NOT into cutesy such as Kawaii or Hello Kitty or Disney. Nothing overly religious. I am sensitive to strong floral scents. I don't have pierced ears however if you sent them, I would use them in my art!
