My name is Misty. I am 26 and I work as a librarian. I have a BA in Psychology.
I like to be outside whenever I can. I find that I have a great love and respect for nature! Nothing beats a nice hike or just laying an a hammock outside watching the cloud go by. Changing shapes, ever morphing into something new.
I love to write and have ever since I could hold a pen/pencil. I write about anything. I am that person who simply cannot stop thinking about something until I commit it to paper. I carry around a little notebook and pen with me at all times.
I listen to everything! Though a couple of my favorite bands are Beatles, Beach Boys, Monkees, Metallica, Shinedown, Bad Company, Queen, and newer popular music including artists.
I was raised to be a fan of all types of music and to not just the music others listen to. I am willing to try anything. So if you have some suggestions, please feel free to let me know. You simply never know when you may stumble across something you may love.
Being that I work in a library I am constantly finding books I want to read. A few of my favorites are: Tuesdays with Morrie - Mitch Albom, Three Cups of Tea- Greg Mortensen, and Last Lecture- Randy Pausch.
I like books that make me think beyond myself. Books based in truth are at the top of my list (if you couldnt tell from my favs.) but I like a good old fashioned made up story too.
I mostly read non-fiction and childrens/young adult fiction novels.
I love nature!! Anything and everything outside makes me happy. I love to hike and take pictures. As for being creative, I like to draw, paint and create. I like working with inks because I find them interesting. Also I enjoy crocheting and knitting. Though, I am not an expert at those.
I like almost all movies. ( I am easy to please). My favorites are Singing in the Rain and The Wizard of Oz. Though I like watching newer movies too.
I collect postcards from all over the place. I love looking at the different styles and texts. I prefer my postcards stamped and canceled (naked) with the date written on it. If you want to get really fancy...get it hand canceled as it makes it easier for me to read the postmark.
Some of my favorites... ( send me one of these for an automatic heart)
And I am sure the list could go on and on. Really I enjoy any kind of card you would like to send me.
Anything I have listed above will most likely get you a heart. But there are plenty of other things I like too. I LOVE surprises so just send me something you think I might enjoy!

Thank you Misty for the sweet note- when my niece's husband Matt was deployed- I loaded him up to call her and his mother as much as possible. I too do not care for the war but stand by our troops. Matt and his unit are back at Ft. Hood and some have signed up for their second tour- and they need all the love and support they can get from home. It would be a pleasure and honor to join some of your swaps for soldiers. I'll keep your address handy to send more when I can.
