I'm a blue/green haired Singaporean girl (still young enough to be called a girl, I hope?) who loves sewing, bullet journalling and all kinds of crafty projects. I'm quite new to snail mailing but have already exchanged a few letters as of now. You can find my pen pal Instagram account as letters.from.jing.
I loved getting happy mails in the letter box and getting to know my pen pals. When I was a student, my friends and I would often write letters to each other even though we see each other everyday in class. We don't actually send the letters though - we just pass it to each other in class! Hahahahaha, weird, I know.
Ok, I've gotta be honest there. The craft projects I do usually involve things that I can find at home (like magazines, printing my own pictures, and scrap fabrics, since I, you know, sew). Sometimes I just use a pen and paper, so I don't know what I can offer here on swap-bot, but I'll make sure to send what's required in the swaps! Even if it means I have to go and buy craft items (and hey, maybe it'll open the door to a whole new crafting world!).
I do have a YouTube channel (mostly sewing related videos but really, it's a mix of everything I do in life!) so if you have a YouTube channel too and are looking to collaborate, I'm open to it! Here's the link to my Youtube channel so you can take a look!
If you want a visual idea of what to send me, here are some YouTubers that are my aesthetic goals! I hope to one day be able to create things like them.
Washi Tape Samples
Stickers
Letters
Die Cuts
Acrylic Stamps/Stamped Images
Patterned Paper
Unique Paper Craft Supplies
Pretty/cute Letter and Envelope Sets
Any perishable items like food and drinks because Singapore is a really hot and humid country, i'm pretty sure any perishable items wouldn't be edible by the time it reaches me.
Tea. I know people usually send tea but... I'm just really not a tea person! :P unless you REALLY want me to try a flavour! (I do love some Yuzu tea~)
Newspaper/magazine clippings. I have plenty of those.
CD/DVD or anything that requires a player - I do not own any player at home and my current computer doesn't support that too :(
USB Drives - I will not stick in into my computer for fear of getting virus.
Religious items - I am a Christian and have no intention of changing my faith. I hope you respect that :) it's an exception if you want to send something related to Christianity though!
Anything with a strong scent (perfume/cologne, cigarettes, etc)
No glitter please, I hate the cleanup as much as I love how they look.
Cosmetics.
Erasers.
Ephemera.
I WATCH A LOT OF KOREAN/JAPANESE/CHINESE DRAMAS! So much that I won't want to list them down and bore you! But here are some genres that I LOVE.
Detective/Crime
Romance/Rom-Com
Fantasy
Sci-Fi
Time-Travel
and I super love Korean/Chinese variety shows too!!! My fave right now is Crime Scene (Korean) and Who's The Murderer (Chinese). They both actually have the same format - a murder scene for participants to solve - just one in Korean and the other in Chinese. I think you can tell by now I really like mysteries!
Again, more detective novels! I also love the Harry Potter series, but it's been a while since I read them. Currently reading more Chinese novels in an attempt to improve my Mother Tongue - not sure if it's helping but wuxia novels are really really interesting!!
Ok, I'm adding this section because I recently took part in a K-Pop Swap!
Artists I listen to: Big Bang, Akdong Musician (omg I love love love the siblings), 2NE1, Got7, CNBlue, FT Island, SNSD, Black Pink
I also love to watch Korean dramas and variety shows (as you've already read above). Running man is love, Return of Superman is cute and Please Take Care of My Refrigerator is yum!
I love pastel colors! Rose gold is really pretty too! Black and gold make a really nice combination.
Themes: unicorn, magical, fantasy, cactus, galaxy, floral, cute cartoon animals, Ghibli Studio, beach, FOOD, Japanese, Korean, Chinese
Minimalist style!
Favourite season: Spring/Summer! Lucky I'm born in Singapore :)
