I'm the mom to two grown sons and I live in the United States.

I love to sew, knit, cook, bake, read, make greeting cards, and play piano. I've just started quilting and am obsessed with modern quilting.

I prefer fabrics with modern designs and colors, nothing drab. (no Civil War reenactment fabrics for me!) Currently I'm loving blues - all shades - everything from navy blue to aqua.

I enjoy knitting with natural fibers like wool, silk, bamboo, and cotton, and I stay away from acrylic yarns. (I just don't like the way they feel!) I like to knit scarves, hats and mittens. When I go on vacation I search out quilting/fabric and yarn stores to purchase items that I can't find in my local stores.

I would love to learn how to spin yarn and also how to hand-dye fabrics. I think I have too many hobbies already, so I've been reluctant to jump into more.

I do like sports, too. I'm a HUGE Atlanta Braves fan (baseball). I also love the Green Bay Packers (American football) and the Olympics!

Some of my other favorites: National Parks, National Park Lodges, "Stay Calm and..." items, note cards, Olympic Games trading pins, vintage post cards and ephemera, Steampunk jewelry, fairies and elves, mid-century modern furniture, Fiesta dinnerware, Scandinavian decor, German items, Wisconsin items, butterflies, peacocks, ladybugs, sunflowers, poppies, tulips, lilacs, Glinda the good witch, used book stores, vintage piano sheet music, vintage sewing and knitting notions, and 5" squares of cotton quilting fabric.

I'd love postcards from your hometown or region, or of fine art paintings or museum items. I also enjoy collecting used postage stamps.

I have no food allergies and I'd really like to taste treats from your part of the world. I love chocolate (any and every variety), sweet & salty together, and any and all varieties of tea. Really, I'm easy to please and will be delighted with whatever you think I'd like.

I don't like coffee (the beverage or the flavor), mushrooms, or coconut flavored anything.

I don't need little kid stuff (no grandkids yet!).

I love to read many types of things. Lately, I've enjoyed mysteries, chick lit, romance, and fantasy. Favorite recent books: While We Were Watching Downton Abbey, Dinner with the Smileys, Gone Girl, The Night Circus, The Magicians trilogy, the Stephanie Plum mysteries by Janet Evanovich, the alphabet mysteries by Sue Grafton, the Sookie Stackhouse books by Charlaine Harris, and anything by Jayne Ann Krentz/Jayne Castle, Maeve Binchy, or Nora Roberts.

I love The Amazing Race, Project Runway, all the HGTV shows, Elementary, Downton Abbey, Sherlock, Castle, Dancing With the Stars, Mad Men, The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Sewing with Nancy, Quilting Arts, The Pioneer Woman, Suze Orman, Parenthood, Game of Thrones, Star Trek Next Generation, Star Trek Deep Space 9, and Firefly.
