About Me:

I am 24 years old, will be 25 this spring. I’m married, but for now no kiddos. My husband and I live in beautiful Northern New Mexico. I enjoy cooking, especially New Mexican food! My husband and I love all different kinds of cuisines- Indian, Thai, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, seafood… Our favorite ethnic food is Vietnamese- I love me a big bowl of Pho! Aside from cooking I find myself immersed in many different creative hobbies, and this fall I am going back to school to study art. Over the years, I have dabbled in many different forms of artistic expression- From dance and photography to makeup artistry and jewelry making. This online swapping idea is so cool! I’m so excited to get involved in some swaps and hopefully meet some new people who share my passion for creativity!

Hobbies:

Jewelry making- I most enjoy working with gemstone and glass beads, chain and wire. I am very much intrigued by the metaphysical and healing properties of gemstones, and I like to incorporate them into each piece I create.

Drawing and Painting- I keep a sketchbook-journal where I draw and paint. Colored pencils are my favorite medium for color, but I recently starting experimenting with acrylic and watercolor as well. I also enjoy painting designs on objects such as flower pots, wood boxes and birdhouses.

Quilting- I took up quilting a few years ago when I wanted to make a special gift for my mother-in-law. I have been hooked ever since! I can’t go to the craft store without purchasing at least a yard or two of new fabric- even when I don’t have a project in the making! I can never get enough fabric- my favorite fabrics are prints from the 1920s through 1950s. I also like modern prints, paisley and modern florals.

Scrapbooking- I started scrap booking after my wedding. What better time to start scrap booking than at the beginning of your happily ever after? I could spend hours at Michaels and Hobby Lobby just picking out paper! The biggest thrill for me when it comes to scrapbooking is the shopping part- picking out all the pretty papers, embellishments, stamps and ephemera. I get all anxious just thinking about it!

Likes: Birds, owls, Floral/botanical, Retro and Vintage prints, Vintage ephemera, Victorian images, Lace, Black and white prints, cotton print fabric, Herbal/aromatherapy, Lavender, filigree, satin ribbon, beads, beads, beads, vintage/retro buttons
