Response: It has! I feel like that’s a new record for slow mail! But glad you got it before Valentine’s!
Response: Yes--books I have checked out/bought (digital and physical) that are in my house on my actual bookshelf (and coffee table, bedside table, etc) waiting to be read, as opposed to my TBR collection on Goodreads.
Response: Omg noooooo!! It had a photo of treaty oak, the old St Johns orphan home, and a book stack connected by railroad tracks. From now on I’m packing tape wrapping all my edges! I sent you some lil sticker & stamp extras that maybe survived? I hope so!
Response: So far I’m managing okay! It’s kind of a lot of the same type of book, and I’m already longing to break out and read something for me, you know, but I’ve got 5 more titles to finish this weekend!
Response: Before you get too impressed, I read mostly kids and teen books and comics, so they’re a lot shorter than what you’re probably reading.
Response: Wow, that is a really, really long trip to the Antipodes!
Response: I remember those days! I hope your students are angels for you and grading goes quickly!
Response: Austin! Practically neighbors by Texas standards!

Response: It really is! Thanks for the heart!
Response: I actually use this swap to help me tackle my physical TBR list that’s stacked on the dresser before it’s all due back to the library—because my goodreads one is over 1000 books at this point!

Response: That’s wild! What was it even doing for 3 weeks? I’m a glutton for punishment, so getting amped for the new outlander season. Anne of Green Gables is an absolute classic! Although I never read the full series when she was an adult and all. So glad the card finally arrived!
Response: Thank you! And Granny Waetherwax is my role model!
Response: I have such fun decorating envelopes and am so glad you like it! I worry sometimes that my handwriting might be a bit hard to read--we were only allowed to write in cursive in school, so when I became a teacher I had to re-learn how to print so my students could read my writing, to mixed results. I love how distinctive older handwriting styles are too!
Response: I was so happy to be able to dig up a bird stamp for you! The birdhouse stamp is a Cinderella, since it's not valid postage, but a novelty item. From the 1930s to about 2000, the National Wildlife Federation produced these art stamps to entice people to donate money, and they came in charity mailers like address stickers do now. I still have a few sets from my childhood in the 90s, and a full sheet of them goes for less than $10 on ebay. You can read more about NWF stamps here (https://blog.nwf.org/2016/08/stamps-of-the-decades/) or learn about Cinderellas in this super cool podcast episode https://99percentinvisible.org/episode/great-bitter-lake-association/
