Comment: Hi Megan, Thanks for the awesome card. Fall has been a roller-coaster for us so far. Last week we had a rainstorm that flooded a good portion of the province and cut Vancouver off from the rest of the country. And the next storm is knocking on our doorstep this evening. Thankfully I live on a hill and on the 4th floor! Let me know when you plan to head this way and I will recommend a few of my favourite food spots (I have a lot!). We also have a great brewery/winery.distillery culture here for all your boozy delights!
Response: Oh my goodness! What a fall indeed, I hope it takes a moment to spare y'all for a little while at the very least. Rainy falls are always the worst... but not THAT bad here in MN! I'll drop you a note the moment we even think about a trip to Vancouver. My favorite things are good food and boozy delight!

Response: I'm so glad you like it, I had so much fun busting out the water colors again! I got away with only having to overlap two pieces of packaging tape per side making the overlapped edge barely visible. It was quite nerve wracking, but worth it! I'm glad you like the cactus washi, its one of my favorites!

Response: I totally get you, I’m a rather picky eater myself! I certainly think it can be customized & it won’t suffer much from swapping some ingredients. I definitely recommend trying it if you have the chance, or if anything try it in a restaurant if possible before committing! Let me know if you make it!

Comment: Thank you for the Japanese Curry recipe. I could definitely think to try this recipe if only I get the time some day. Do you think it would work with tofu as protein? I've never thought of storing roux to be used later, so that was a good tip too!
Response: I think an extra firm tofu added in the last 15 minutes or so would be great or fried "katsu" style. I think you would have even better luck with seitan for either frying or adding directly to the sauce like the chicken is in the original recipe.

Comment: Yes! You sent to me an excellent PC for the swap - misty - moody picture of a Black Cat in a mysterious setting. I like this PC as it reminds me of how I love to create ATCs, PCs, mail art for Halloween swaps using images of Black cats. This PC is inspiring, I'm saving it for my Halloween collection. I love cats but sadly I'm allergic to them. My sister bought me a large Disney Cat character as my "apt pet," I have large toy stuffed Disney "Cheshire Cat" in my bedroom.
Response: I'm so glad you liked the PC, its one of my favorites that i've found in a tiny stationary/gift shop I like. I hope it gives plenty of inspiration for Halloween, its never to early to get our spooky on!

Anyone who has "devices and prototypes" laying around sounds like much fun! Your reference book sounds great - I had a psychiatric diagnosis book I rescued from a foundation I worked at when they purged, and it had a hilarious bunch of things as "disorders" that are now considered completely normal and acceptable. And the hysteria, that was in there. Its description sounded like "a woman who is severely sick of the fu**ing men in her life trying to rule her," but like it was a bad thing. Anyway, I enjoyed reading your stuff, and thanks for sharing!

What works best for me is just taking a shower. I have super long hair, and when wet it cools me down just perfectly. Thank you for sharing your day!
Response: Thanks! I compiled it in Photoshop & Adobe Acrobat, although I wish I had a better camera! Cool showers or if i'm feeling indulgent - a cool bath always help beat the heat for a bit!

Comment: I love your letter- oh and the rainbow envelope! Where did you find the rainbow envelope? Anyway it was awesome to connect with you- and I would like to keep in touch. I'm not always great about keeping up with penpals but we could also set up a private swap sometime- once its on my dashboard and I have a deadline I know I'll follow through on it :) I identify as pansexual... that's the accurate term. I honestly squirm when the term "bisexual" is used to describe me (even though I use it sometimes because it's a well known/ more mainsteam term that I don't have to explain to people...)... but "bisexual" honestly doesn't describe my experience as I have been attracted to so many partners along a spectrum, who really don't fit into a binary. I've had a lot of variety lol.

Comment: I FREAKING LOVE THIS ATC. It's beautiful. I'm not religious, but it is so touching and I love that it harkens back to the iconography of the middle ages (I teach APAH). Thanks for an awesome swap - now, I am off to find some of that nifty gold thread to use in my work. :)
Response: I'm really happy you like it! It was actually partially inspired by tarot cards and some historical art sources (i'm not religious myself, but I do love me some old school religious iconography). Gold thread can be SO finicky, but the finished results are always fun. I wish you luck! :)

The poem you sent is awesome! I really like it starts out so happy and light and jingle bells! And then slowly turns dark and sinister and we end up with moaning and groaning. Send me a private message with your email and I can send you some! :) The story behind my swap name is a silly one. I identify as non-binary (not strictly male or female "binary") and I find myself dressing mostly androgynous or masculine. Some may call this "cross dressing" or "drag". I also love deer and they are one of my favorite animals, with the stag typically representing masculinity. So all in all they all tie to together as "StagKing" a play on "Drag King". Quite the complicated little backstory, but I think it suits me well! :)

Response: I have! It's one of my favorite drinks to make when strawberries go on sale. The basil does sound odd, but it really adds a bold twist that I personally rather enjoy. However if you don't like basil it is also just as good without it!

I used to make mug lava cake, which has the advantage of only requiring 3 ingredients: egg, 1/4 cup powedered sugar, and a tablespoon (or more if you like) of cocoa powder. Nuke for about a minute or so until it's all spongy on top, and mmmmmmmmmmm! Chocolate melty goodness :) And I ~*LOVE*~ the Jiji cross stitch!!! And mint tea! And West Virginia Stamp!!!!
