UPDATE September 11: My apologies for my absence but it was beyond my control. Well over a month ago, I suffered 3 small mini strokes that caused temporary problems to the left side of my body. I am back home now and nearly recovered as best I can. I have received your mail and will respond to my not so happy swap messages. I understand and will resolve as fast as i can.
Thank you friends😘
Hello from sunny and hot Arizona. I am a nearly 50 year old lady that loves to write postcards. I have been a postcrossing member for over 8 years now. I find it interesting to read about other people's lives. It is hard to find friends in the desert but I have so many in my mailbox. I love a happy mailbox. I have recently moved into a new home and with that comes a new wall for more postcards!! So I would like to meet you all at my mailbox.
I was a rock hound. I collected rocks to polish down into beads for jewelry. My failing eyesight has me making jewelry now with the help of a great invention, the table top lighted magnifying screen. I make stone bead jewelry. I no longer can work with seed beads, but E-Beads are still O.K. I also create fairy gardens for my neighbors. I am often accompanied by my service dogs that love to be surprised by cat toys. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats to keep me company in my craft room so I apologize in advance for any furbaby love sent in the form of loose fur :-), but I do everything possible to prevent that. My family vacuums the room daily.
I collect stamps as well. Not sure why, but it is fun, and while I can still see them under good light, I wish to enjoy them. So if you have any used stamps from your swaps mail, think of me.
My favorite types of postcards change from time to time as I see new postcards. Currently I am collecting:
Disney, Pixar, and Movies/ Greetings From/ Hello From..../ Large Letters of any kind on front of card/ UNESCO/ Mailboxes, Mail related and post offices/ Postcrossing Meet-Up Cards/ Really Funny and Colorful/ Keep Calm and....../ Monkeys Wearing Clothes/ Maps, Flags/ Wooden Postcards/ Quilted Postcards/ Jokes about Coffee (I do drink way too much coffee)/ Good Quality Only handmade cards in a 5 x 7 size./ Star Wars, Star Trek or Aliens/ Jetoy/ Hello Kitty/ DRAGONS/ Fairies and Pixies/ Faux Vintage Advertising or Magazine Covers/
I AM LOOKING FOR BUTTERFLY POSTCARDS UNWRITTEN IN AN ENVELOPE. I use them to write to an elderly lady who loves butterflies.
I do NOT like Multi view (I am visually impaired so these are too small to really see and enjoy) Perfume of any kind. I barely stand my deodorant. Ha Ha. Handmade cards unless they are good quality or you believe you could enter it in the fair.... or unless I signed up for a swap for them. I do NOT really like Zazzle cards because they do not fit in my albums.
Some things I like to be surprised with are:
Stone, Glass, or Shell Beads/ Beading supplies/ DVD or Blu-Ray MOVIES/ Christian CD's, Music or Bible Study/ Good quality stickers, not teacher stickers or dollar store brand/ NEW or used stamps/ Tiny zip loc bags/ Jelly Belly Candy / Anything Christmas/ Blank postcards for adding to my trade album/ Garage Sale price stickers/ Instant Coffee - Not decaf./ Cat Toys/ Acrylic Paints/ Model Paint (I use in my Fairy Villages/ Crayola Colored Pencils/ Crayola Brand ANYTHING/ LEGOS..... NO KIDDING !!!! Better than puzzles !!//
thinking, thinking, thinking, oh Santa, help me out here !!!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE MY SCI-FI !! Big time Trekkie and LOVE all the Star Wars Films, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate....etc. I would love anything with aliens or SCI-FI movie stuff. I do NOT read many books but when I do they are all Bible Study or amish/menonite related. The NEW Amish fiction books have caught my attention. Any book you send me should by LARGE PRINT, otherwise I must use my jewelry magnfication stand to read them. I am visually impaired.
I am a CHEESEHEAD !!! Not ashamed to admit it. Green Bay Packer fan through and through. I bleed Green Bay. Go pack!!!!!!
Please write inside your card. We will display them in our home at Christmas. Our few friends will be curious about you as well. Tell me about how you celebrate the holidays. SOME IDEAS: Any Christmas Traditions? (I would love ideas for starting my own traditions with my young daughter). Do you open 1 gift the night before? Do you plan a big meal? Who gets stuck washing the dishes :-) ? Do you buy gifts for your pets. Do you hang stockings? Do you make or buy fruitcake!! What is your favorite Christmas sweet? What is your Christmas Wish?? Handmade Christmas Holiday cards are o.K. if they look nice. Not just thrown together. Your artwork will be part of my holiday decorating so should look nice enough to display. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
