I am currently rediscovering art. Altered art is my primary interest right now. I've been a scrap booker and a Creative Memories Consultant for 14 years. My favorite weekends are at my scrapbook retreats, especially the ones in the mountains near Estes Park, Colorado.
My two children are away at college and are both very global liberal young adults. With both of them away I enjoy my empty nest. The basement has been converted to a workshop area just for me.
I teach full time at the neighborhood elementary school. The children I work with are ages 3 to 5. I have taught for almost thirty years and still find great satisfaction in it. The children I work with are low income, at risk children. I try and introduce them to messy great art processes.
The color blue catches my eye and greatly influences my opinion. Any shade of blue, from teal to navy depending on my mood.
I like antiques, folk art and retro items.
Lately I've really enjoyed a variety of quotes - from humorous ones to inspiring ones.
I love coffee and sweets; chocolate and cinnamon rolls. I eat very healthy other than those weaknesses. I choose not to eat meat because of the negative carbon footprint.
I support farmers markets, local businesses and all recycling efforts.
