I read Cujo when I was in high school, maybe 16? And remember reading it in the hot tub at night and calling my older brother on the phone and making him come turn the back porch light on for me because I was scared to get out of the hot tub in the dark!

I loved the hippo-ellie-owl front and then, (after careful slitting of the tape) opening up and just experiencing the joy that was your fold-a-note to me, yes I loved that part most especially !!! I think it's supposed to look like the dinosaur ate a funny little person with a furry cat-like head (and you just ignore the body like with some of the dog costumes). Funny thing though is that it looks kinda homemade - like they just snipped a hand puppet open a bit wider. Beautiful b/fly stamp, btw. Also, that kitt-cat looks a lot like my Elsie Wisdom. Comment: I never had to use paper tape, punch cards, or even cassette tape (I think TSRs used cassettes). But our school had acoustic modems with the big rubber cups for the phone (which was rotary), and I did have a job doing computer backups to huge mag tapes. At work I always had my own terminal or computer, and they always banned smoking at your desk just before I got there (nice for me cuz noone in my family smokes and it would have been quite a shock for me to sit in smoke all day).

Comment: I LOVE your postcard! I met my husband on a CDC Cyber. My little Smith-Corona Skywriter did NOT like my postcard, either. It balks at some envelopes, too. Single sheets of paper suit it just fine. I think I'm going to create some more Typewriter Letter swaps. I'm not sure about more PC swaps cuz of the issues with my machine.

I looked at your profile and your cats are gorgeous! We have a black Oriental Shorthair named Tristan and I once owned a white Oriental named Mr. Pink. I have never seen a blue. Wow! Iridescent! Our newest love is a white Cornish Rex kitten we call Dexter. I am inspired now to add photos on flickr. Thanks!

Comment: This swap was the cat's pajamas!!! To be honest, I wasn't expecting a postcard to have such a big impact! But it's really one of the greatest things I've gotten on swap-bot so far!!! Everything was thought out so well! From the stamp (I've been getting a lot of snow too!) and the quote (Oh my god, I can't explain how much I loved it!!! It was absolutely perfect) and the postcard! (it's strangely beautiful. And I've only been to the MoMa once, with my high school, so I didn't get to see much, I need to go back!) And as for House of 1000 Corpses... I've seen it, and I like it. But it's not my favorite. They're both really different movies, I guess. :D But thank you again!!! :D
Response: Cool! I fell in love with that quote in college: almost 4 decades later, it's still one of my top 10. As for the image on the postcard, if it were tightened up just a bit, it'd make a good tattoo, wouldn't it? I love MoMA--here's hopin' you get back there soon!
