Comment: Thank you for the beautiful horse card. I have only been to Florida once and that was last year when my daughter a friend and I went on a caribean cruise. We stopped several places on the way back my favorite was Kennedy Space center where we actually got the see the space shuttle Endeavour on the 747 before it went to it final home in California.

Response: Savannah is really beautiful, and fun to visit, but there is a lot (A LOT) of crime there. I personally know two people who have been murdered there in the last few years. Just wrong place wrong time. Awful. It's really bad there.

Comment: Thanks for this great PC! I always wondered how the barrier islands were formed. Are there bridges to them or do you have to take a boat? Looks like a lot of people live there. Hugs from Alaska, Sherry
Response: The barrier islands are apparently built up naturally on sand bars over many thousands of years. As the waves roll in and wash over what was once a sand bar, sand is displaced and further built up on top of that. Fast forward many thousands of years and you have a very very large sand bar...an island in fact! Those barrier islands line the Gulf coast of Florida. This particular island, Captiva is accessible via another barrier island Sanibel. Both are accessible via bridge and causeway. There is a small pass of water that separates Sanibel and Captiva making them separate islands. It's beautiful there and I'm proud to call it home.

Comment: Wow... what a blooper! I looked up images of the Johnny Mercer Home in Savannah and you're right... they got it wrong. There are some similarities but no way is the house on the postcard the Johnny Mercer Home. I'll bet being a trolley driver was a hoot. Thank you for a fun swap! :)
Response: As a trolley driver, I was a tour guide, so it was my JOB to know all the houses, whose they were, etc. When I found those postcards, my brain about exploded, and so I night a bunch of them because a.) they were so bad, so wrong, and b.) they were the only postcards made with my trolleys on them. :)

Comment: Funny about the "wrongness" of this postcard! I have a postcard that should say "Cape Cod," but it says "Cape Code." I guess errors happen. I was in Savannah and took a trolley tour. I cannot even imagine a single tree being ONE ACRE in diameter! :-O Then again...banyan's are interesting...always setting down new roots as they grow outward, so I suppose it makes sense. Different message, of course, but we used the same exact design for our Christmas cards last year. :-) I love the blue, white, and gold together! Anyway, there's still a tad bit of snow on the ground here, but it's all leftover from the huge drifts we had a month ago. Hopefully it'll all be gone soon!

Response: Owls always show up for me as "spiritual messengers" whenever something major is going on in my life, usually like a death of a loved one. I always 'receive' an owl. It's amazing.

Now mountains with trees are much different than mountains in the desert. Coastal topography just can't compare with either. Have a great rest of the week!

Comment: Thanks for the awesome card! I just love these legends, so informative! I want to update my flickr albums to say whether or not the cards in my collection are blank or not. I have tons of blank cards that I love, but I'd love them a whole lot better if I had written on and stamped versions! So far, I've only gotten through one book of US state maps...so much more to go!! But be on the lookout :) Hopefully it will help!

Comment: I have been to the tour of this beautiful place called the Biltmore Estate. It was a couple of years ago. It is amazing and I would highly recommend it. The inside of the main mansion is incredible and the many different gardens/grounds are beautiful. I went in the very early Spring. Thanks for this very lovely PC of the Italian Garden.

I'm a bit older than you so I didn't read as many of the BSC books, but I worked in a bookstore in the 90's and sold them and would read the ones that seemed the most interesting (I remember one dealing with racism.) Comment: Thanks for the card--I vacationed in Savannah for the first time last year at this time and my top reason for visiting your lovely city was Bonaventure Cemetery! Knowing that, you won't be surprised that I bought many copies of this same pc. I sent my last one out just this month for the Cemetery pc swap that someone hosted. Too funny, huh?! I saw that you drive one of the trolleys there and had to smile-we walked the historic district over 3 days ourselves, but they certainly are a presence there! While we were there the Robert Redford film about the Civil War was filming and we got a few peeks at the filming-I don't think it's out yet, but I'll definately see it when it does come to local theaters! Thanks again for the card- I took many photos at Bonaventure, and keep one at my desk at work--it's a close up of the Conrad Aiken bench gravemarker with "Cosmos Mariner, Destination Unknown" on it. Love that!

Comment: Thank you for the pretty pc. Florida has a beautiful old capitol building. Have you had a chance to visit it? I love visiting state capitols as most have such a great history as well as being architecurally beautiful.
Response: I have not been to visit it yet. I drive by it a few times a week, as it's RIGHT on a main corner, but no, have never toured it. I'd love to, especially now that legislature is in session.

Comment: Great selection of stickers, I love all the cat ones. I'm only a little concerned that maybe some got lost in the mail as the bottom of the envelope was slightly torn open. I try to tape the edges when I have a lumpy envie like that. But I do really love everything I got so no worries! GREAT SELECTION!

Comment: First of all, I'm glad you packaged the stationary the way you did. somehow a big puddle of rain water got into my mail box, and the folder saved the stationary from getting soaked. It's one of those cases where a little extra care went a long way. The stationary itself was lovely -- great variety, and WAY more than required. Thanks!
